5.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative and Actionable

I like this couple’s videos, but I honestly wasn’t expecting the book to be very helpful. However, I was very wrong. It’s short and formatted well, and I read it in less than a day.

There was so much specific and actionable information also and breaking down the why is probably really helpful for non-ADHD partners. I’ve been diagnosed for less than a year and I’m still learning how exactly ADHD affects me and how I can counteract it and finding a book like this was a gold mine.

Reading the perspective of someone with ADHD and a partner that doesn’t have it was super helpful. I thought my partner just wasn’t patient enough because he would always be so hurt when I would make a mistake due to my ADHD, but reading Richard talk about how he reacted before they understood what was truly going on and seeing how patient and supportive he is now gave me so much hope. The fact that he’s able to support Rox enough that she’s consistently done social media and wrote a book is impressive also. I’m just now learning that ADHD is truly a disability and I really needed to read something like this that could give me hope.

Like so many others, I have become acquainted with the authors, Rox and Rich, through the video shorts they post on social media. They are two of the most sincere, adorable, and good-humored people you could ever hope to meet. As someone who just got my first ADD diagnosis at 60, I can't tell you how wonderful, inspiring, and important it is to witness the processes of, and be in some form of dialogue with, people who have similar situations to your own when you realize you are neurodivergent. Through the retelling of their experiences - the good, the bad, and the ugly - they give us the gift of their ultimate goal: To remove the shame that neurodivergent people are bludgeoned with from childhood. I knew right from the start when Rich asks the question "Why is everyone crying?" that I was in the right place. I laughed and cried at the same time in several parts of the book. (I fully admit that I was 'Procrasti-working'... I'm 'supposed to be' looking for a new job online, but I found it much more satisfying to listen to your Audible.com version of Dirty Laundry while I repaired 4 old laptop computers and set them up as cloud miners. Don't look at me that way! It isn't like I wasn't doing anything productive! lol)
I recommend this book to anyone who knows or even thinks they may have ADHD or ADD. Or, if you know someone who does, they need this book. I implore you to let Rox and Rich help lift the Cloud of Shame that settles over all of us who do things 'a bit differently.' Dirty Laundry may just be the mega-shot of sunlight that your neurodivergent brain has been hoping for. Not only are we not alone, but we are also in excellent company with these two. Twelve stars! ;-)

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these 2!

I love these 2! I think they’re so amazing and the way he helps her with her ADHD and is so understanding and patient is amazing.

I was recently diagnosed before my 30th birthday and found their social media page not too long after.

I love how this book if written by the both of them and each chapter tells you what part she wrote and what part he wrote.

They help ease anyone’s shame with not knowing how to do what society sees simple, daily routine tasks. Definitely recommend if you have ADHD and struggle with it at all

This book broke down all the different aspects of ADHD and offered perspectives from both sides and offered tips to work together. It was a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I adore these two - I found them on Youtube and as a fellow ADHDer, I gave this to my mom to read

I learned I had ADHD 20 years ago in college so I'm more lucky than others but gosh I didnt know as much about it then as we do now - things like this would have been so helpful! I've been reading it with my mom - more to help her understand me, but also to reassure myself I'm not alone with my weird quirks.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis 6 years ago and it... altered my ADHD. They're both executive function disorders so it's like getting ADHD again on top of what I had... so ADHDx2. I'm now experiencing what I had only read about and never related to - before my diagnosis I had the highly functioning kind - thriving in school, breezing thru my PhD studies, loads of energy, juggling 5 major tasks at once, Acing tests, all that.... still leaving trails of creative things left undone everywhere, hyperfocusing to the point I dont hear people talk to me when I'm plugged in, super-empathy... but no anxiety or depression. Those things came with the hashi brain fog and it was like the brakes went on and rather than a wide gate with 5 things trying to go thru at once, my gate got small and those 5 things all are squeezing in at the same time so none of them are getting thru. It's been a hot mess and the old me is gone. I kept thinking medications would help me get back to... me... but I started realizing this was a new me... and that I'd have to learn how to ADHD all over again.

I had watched things and researched ADHD before years ago when I was struggling but recently I helped a friend with learning about her own ADHD and when looking for links I found Roxy and Rich right as their star was rising. Roxy's hair is definitely eye-catching but her willingness to share was therapeutic. But Rich was what mainly caught my attention - I'd never seen someone so in tune with ADHD who didn't have it. Somehow she'd gotten through to him... or he figured it out... I couldn't help but watch ALL their videos. The two of them make a lovely pair - and now this book!

Roxy and Rich... honestly... thank you. Every now and then when my ADHD gets me into a situation that makes me feel terrible, your shorts are the perfect pick-me up. Rich, you are LOVELY. Your support of Rox as she navigates this brain maze, and desire to teach other neurotypicals, is a blessing. Roxy, your openness about your own issues and willingness to share the messy stinky disorganized but creative fun spontaneous-genius side of what we deal with is so helpful to both neurodivergent and neurotypical folks.

This book is so simple in the way it's been broken down - I like that it has the ADHD side and the ADHD-support side of each topic. I relate to some, but not all, of whats said, but all of it makes me go YES - EXACTLY or gives me flashbacks to my childhood and having my ADHD misunderstood because non of us knew I had it. I know many will love it. 5 stars easily.

Thank you so much for creating this book. I love the design of the cover, the way you laid it out, the ease of which anyone can read it so it's accessible to all. I wish you both many years of happiness to come.

I enjoyed hearing both perspectives from Rox and Rich, and really appreciated her vulnerability in sharing her ADHD struggles. I liked how it was separated into the 10 most common ADHD symptoms.
