5.0 out of 5 stars Love this set

Got it on sale for $82 and worth every penny. Gives solid amounts of land and the set has plenty of chase cards. I got no more than 3 of any set. In two boxes, I only got triples once and doubles 5 times. So it was a great variety of different themes. Very enjoyable box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value and Great Fun

First, it's great value for the money. Of course as with any sealed Magic product it's a gamble, but in my case ended up with $192 worth of cards including a Rhystic Study. Maybe one or two packs were only worth a buck, but most were higher in value.

Out of the 24 packs, there were 20 unique themes and only a single exact duplicate (same theme and subset).

I am a big fan of Jumpstart since its easy to play, offers a lot of variety, and perhaps most importantly provides a fairly level playing field. Its great for newcomers and veterans alike. To keep the replayability high I double sleeve each card (KMC inner, Dragonshield outer), place a small colored sticker on the inner sleeve so all cards from the same pack have the same color, and then place them into a small plastic case from Burger Tokens. These then go into one of the larger triple row felt/leather 1800 card boxes.

In the end it gives me a box/cube that can be easily transported and players can just pull out two decks at random and play.

Got about $160 worth of cards for around $92… but honestly? It’s such a fun format that I’m struggling to break these themed packs apart to sell. May legitimately keep it as a repeatable board game of sorts. Very cool product- maybe my favorite MTG product ever.

If you are on the fence, Tolarian Community College has a really nice breakdown of the product. My experience was similar to the Prof’s.

4.0 out of 5 stars Make sure this is what you want

I bought in hopes to pull 4 different cards. Rhystic Study, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, Lita - Mechanical Engineer, and Benevolent Hydra. There are a few cards in here that are only available from this box/set. Here's how it works - you get 24 individual packs and each pack consists of a "preconstructed" mini deck. There are 20 cards per precon deck/pack which consist of 1 mythic/rare, uncommons, commons, lands, and a set topper card which tells you the name of the precon mini deck you have and color. There can be duplicates. I've bought 3 of these and they're all different but it might be by sheer chance, all of my duplicates were the Izzet deck (U/R) and got 3 to 5 per box, really useless. There is 1 anime style art card per deck which is a variant of an existing card. To be honest, at the price per box, rate of pulls, fluctuating market values, Hasbro's willingness to reprint ANY card they seem fit, just buy singles. If you're new to the game, this could have potential but a lot of the cards will not help mid to upper experienced players.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best ways to get someone into magic, while still having good value

I'm a big fan of the main line Jumpstart products (Jumpstart and Jumpstart 2022). Historically, Magic has generally leaned on the likes of starter decks to get new players into the game. These can be a great way to learn the basic rules, but they lack variety and financial value.

Jumpstart solves both of these issues, though of course buying a full box carries a much higher price tag than a $10-20 starter set. Since you don't need to design a deck yourself there's no work or skill needed to get going, unlike drafting. There are a ton of different themes you can pull from, and if you don't like how the deck you pulled plays, you can just pull another one - there are enough packs for two players to each pull six decks. The themes are generally pretty straightforward and usually fairly cohesive. Balance can be a little all over the place, but I feel like that's mostly OK - it can give new players a good chance to beat a more experienced friend with a little bit of luck.

Best of all, at the end of the experience you will be left with quite a number of very playable cards for commander, including a number of staples, mechanically unique cards, and alternate arts that you can't find anywhere else. Some of these can carry a high price tag, and as such can be sold or traded to help fill out your collection, if you don't need them.

I highly recommend Jumpstart to new players, and even for experienced players just to open (if you can pick it up at a discount from its usual ~$100 price tag).

5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun!

Jumpstart is probably the easiest way to play magic, just take 2 packs, open, shuffle them up and play. I played with my friends all afternoon, changing decks after every game and we never repeated decks. Besides that, the value is really good, every pack had something of value and some of them had around $30 worth in cards. Both this and the first jumpstart set are a total recommendation to anyone that wants to play as long as the booster box is going for around $100

5.0 out of 5 stars Under-rated set with lots of great cards.

Jumpstart 2022 has a lot of great cards and easy to get your money's worth from pulls. Fun set for a quick match with some friends, just open 2 packs each and get right to playing. With cards like Rhystic Study in this set, and legendary creatures like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm and Balan Wandering Knight, you're sure to find plenty of cards to round out your current decks as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best magic product since the original Jumpstart!

Where to begin? This product exceeds box value significantly. It is a great product for casual play with no extra parts or pieces needed, crack 2 packs, shuffle and play (I recommend sleeving, but its not required). You can even get more value by trading a half of your deck to your friend and trying a new combination. Unlike draft boxes or set boosters this product stands on its own. You can buy small plastic card boxes and keep the cards seperate to use again and again with so many variations to shuffle together and play or you pick apart the high value cards and use them for edh. Best magic product we have been given since the original jumpstart. Perfect for beginners or seasoned pros.
