Works fantastic, bought this specifically to play my new ABBA box set. Universal pressing quality is sub par and so I was worried how it'd sound. Despite the horrible pressing, it sounds fantastic on this turntable which completely shocked me. Easy to set up and sound quality is better than I expected. I couldn't recommend this turntable more for beginners or people looking for cheaper options but wanting good quality sound output. The only downside I've had is the fact the RCA cable is soooo short, otherwise completely worth the price.

I thought the unit was not working but after doing some searching on google I realized I had wrongly set up the unit so the band wasn't going around the correct spindle and so it seemed there was no power to the unity. I made a big fuss, wrote a nasty review and sought to get refunded - however, now I realize the mistake was all mine. Mea culpa! I am completely satisfied with the player it works like a dream. In fact I bought one for my girlfriend too a couple of years ago and it's worked consistently (which is why I was so suprised this one didn't seem to work). However, sound quality, mechanics, everything is great. A great value for the money! Highly recommend!

This fit in perfectly to my vintage Kenwood stereo. It was simple to hook up, and sounds wonderful on those giant speakers. I wish I could crank it up, must respect the neighbors. Money well spent, I recommend.

I have no frame of reference for what a turntable is supposed to sound like, but this works great. The sound quality is noticeably better than any digital media. The speakers I bought easily hook up to it(I would just get the amazon recommended speakers). Some skipping, but I think that may be the actual records because it's usually around the same times/rotations.

The construction of the body of the player is plastic, but feels relatively durable. The turntable, however, is metal and feels strong. It is a belt driven turn-table and works well so far. The start-stop buttons feel flimsy, but have worked so far. The audio quality has been good through my Sony receiver and my tower speakers. It was easy enough to put together. I will update my review if it fails at some point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really easy to set up, operate, light weight, low profile

This is replacing a very old Bang & Olufson tangential tracking turntable that had finally gone kaput after years of keeping it going. I just wanted a cheap, simple, automatic turntable with lowish profile and smallish footprint to play LPs and 7' singles at 33, 45 rpm, with simple switching between the two sizes/speeds and no messing around with belt position as on pricey turntables. This does the job beautifully. Analog plugs from 3.5 mm jack plug in back of turntable for output to amplifier, no extra lead to reduce buzzing/humming noises - no need for one. It even has a nice little recess for the 45 adaptor (included) for when the center's been removed from a single - brilliant!

I haven't experimented with whether it needs a pre-amp, or not - it depends upon which amp you're using and they're cheap enough to buy if you need one; and I haven't attempted direct recording to other media formats - I have $2000 player and old CD recorder/player set up for that so I can make my own CDs. I'm not into music on computers, digital downloads or all the awful modern crap from last 20 years.

OK, sound isn't on the same level as a $1000+ hi-fi turntable, with all the 20lb weight, leveling, and the rest, but it is adequate for my needs.

Would make a very nice starter turntable for a teenager who's maybe discovering what vinyl was all about 50, 60 years ago and spinning grand-dad's old records, or buying new ones since vinyl's back in popularity again after the wilderness years of 1990s - 2010s. It's nicely retro, without being cheesy. It just does the job without hassle. Back to analog. I bet you can even find a mono cartridge if you look around.

I had this thing set up in under 5 minutes and it works perfectly as advertised. The included stylus is also audio technical branded and helps produce very high-quality sound in my opinion. I am a beginner in the record-playing world and intend to stay that way to avoid becoming an audiophile. for me, this plays incredibly high-quality sound for its price. (that is if you have it paired with decent-quality speakers.) I absolutely love this thing and am glad to finally have something that plays vinyl without damaging them... ahem portable briefcase record players.
