5.0 out of 5 stars Loud, functional and great buy

I have it on my Honda PVC and it works great. If you touch the bike it will worn you and if you persist the alarm will go off. The batteries last a long time and will alert you when they are getting low. I bought a second one for my bmw which is all electronic and works with a fob. I wanted something to warn people not to touch my vehicle. It’s a bargain and it really works

I feel so much safer now. I use it as a personal alarm since I got mugged and robbed in LA. I use it by remote if I feel I’m being attacked. I tried it when it arrived and works good! Nice and loud and I love the multiple alarm settings. Thankfully I haven’t had to use it yet! I also use it because I am a concert violinist who carries a Stradivari everywhere I go and I do a lot of travelling so this alarm unit is good for me and my violin! Thank you for the quick ship and a very good product! Highly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Addition to an Alarm

Very easy and simple to use! Directions need a little work but overall functional and helpful in terms of safety! I tie it in my car to provide additional security or alertness to thieves to impair them a little bit if they decide to break into my car. I would recommend buying multiple, maybe have 2 or 3 (can pair up to 4 and even for bikes) to provide additional sound and alert others in the surrounding that an alarm is going off.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy to use, reliable, & loud

I've used this alarm for around 9 months now. It gives me great peace of mind when I have to take my eyes off my bike for a couple minutes. It still works good-as-new even now. Let's talk about the details:

    INSTALLATION
The alarm comes with zipties to attach to your bike. I have a very well-concealed black part of my frame that works nicely for this. Underneath your seat is another good option. If you want extreme protection, you can use metal zipties. Keep in mind that you will need to eventually replace the battery, and you might need to cut through the metal zipties to do so. Have the necessary tools ready (probably a Dremel).

    SETTING THE ALARM
Easy enough, just press the big round button on the remote. You can be pretty far away to do so. One complaint: the alarm makes a loud beep when you set it. This makes sense: you want to know the alarm's going to be loud. It's not so great for crowded places though: expect a lot of attention. I wish there was a quieter beep when you set the alarm and a separate "test" functionality that let you inspect the loudness of it.

    TRIGGERING THE ALARM
The alarm is extremely sensitive. The smallest touch will set it off. It will allow some movement after initially setting the alarm though. Triggering the alarm causes with a moderately loud warning beep, followed by an ear-splittingly loud alarm if you keep moving the bike around.

    UNSETTING THE ALARM
Works just like setting the alarm. Again: it makes a loud noise, and I really wish it made a quieter one so I didn't have to disturb other people around me.

    MAINTENANCE
This is a pretty simple device. You don't need to do much to maintain it. At some point (9 months for me) the alarm will start making a warning beep for low battery. The alarm itself takes 3 AAA batteries. It can be kind of hard to open: the alarm comes with a special plastic triangle for prying it open. This is another thing I would improve: why not just have some Phillips-head screws?

IMPORTANT: replace the remote's battery whenever you replace the alarm's battery. The remote will not alert you if it has low battery. It will last longer than the alarm batteries, though. So once the alarm alerts you of low battery, replenish it and the remote. The remote takes a single A27 battery. This is a standard battery size that's easy to find. It's very easy to replace the remote's battery with a small Phillips-head screwdriver.

5.0 out of 5 stars Youll go DEAF staealing my bike!!! Be Warned!

I came to this purchase one week too late. Thieves nicked my seat, lights, and a bike rack I loved.
I lock my bike in my basement in a NYC brownstone.
I live in Harlem. Lot of bike thieves and crackheads find ways into buildings or residents themselves steal your stuff.
If I would have had this baby. No way. The whole building would hear. No joke. The walls are cement, and the high pitch sound resonates at a deafening tone. Even if no one were around, the would be thief would actually get ear damage taking the time to work out my locks. I myself hurt my ears just setting up the device. Wow.
Ive set it to the highest sensitivity. If a spider farts it goes off. Love it.
Oddly, now my concern is hurting someone's ears or waking the building up if it goes off.
I'm on the 5th floor. And yes, I hear it.
I bought a bike stand to go with it. I couldn't have any accidental tips or falls just from placing it on the wall, I used to do that and the bike would often shift. So, I feel I have a really good set up now. Stable. So any movement of the bike is 99% intentional.
Lets assume a ridiculous scenario: I turn on the alarm, but I only place it on my seat. No ties or stick tape. Can the thief still get to my bike? Well, sure. But not before he sets off the alarm and I hear it. Plus, then what.... the alarm is going off, where's he going to put it? Needs a bucket of water to place it in.
So... there. The only way I see to defeat this device is with another key. A hacked signal or some other Jason Bourne shit. You need a bucket of water. Owner has to arm the alarm, but not attach it to bike. Then thief has bucket of water ready to go, gentle moves alarm into bucket of water. Have I thought this out too much?
My point. The alarm will trip even if the thief tries to remove the device, even if the thief knows its there ahead of time.
Said thieves would have to sound proof the area some how. Its that loud. Especially in an enclosed area.
Ive only had it for a couple days now..... So I dont have time on my side as far as a long run record. We'll see. I feel like Ive spent the best $17 on protection for my $1000 plus bike.
Even if this alarm broke every 6 months. I would still replace it with another. Its that cost effective.
I cannot speak for longevity.... so thats an if. I hope all the hardware and software holds up.
So far so good. I sleep better at night. And besides. Its pretty BOSS. Walking up to my bike and hitting an arm or disarm key. Its fun.

    Pros:
    Solid simple construction
    Cost effective
    Easy install
    Varied sensitivity and volume....
    It works!
    LOUD!

    Cons:
Im unsure of battery life, and I dont know if it warns of low battery.
Id assume alarm is best for places where your bike isn't getting jostled by other people sharing a bike rack or mount.
Id hate to F with the innocent, with a sonic blast, cause a heart attack. Sensitivity settings may assist here?
Size? Its a little on the big side. It ruins a 'clean look' on a sleek bike.
Hiding it could be an issue unless you had a bike rack(underneath). I wouldn't want it inside anything.

I'm thinking of buying another just for the bike rack alone.... and maybe one more to put on the milk in the fridge.
To give my roommates late night milk cravings a freak.

Ill update in a few. And I'll do a pic of final set up. Waiting on a few things.

    Cheers,
    OccamsPhazer
