5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Farmers Market tent - better then EZ Up
Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2024
I've been running a farmers market business for almost 5 years and I've been through about 5 different tents, this one is my absolute favorite. I've had this tent for several months now and I plan to buy another when my season gets busy again. My only possible complaint is that the legs don't extend quite high enough for my taller customers (those over 6ft) to get underneath the side of the canopy without ducking. Other than that, it's great. It's absolutely lightweight but the frame is sturdy and has stood up to wind gusts over 20mph with 25lb weights on each leg and nothing has bent, broken or snapped. The center pop up mechanism is similar to the EZ Up single person canopy and is just as easy to use. For comparison, my only EZ up purchase literally snapped it's bars in multiple places and dropped plastic hardware all over the place within 2 months of owning it. One of my markets actually had a grave yard of other EZ Ups that had similarly disintegrated that I pulled parts from to repair mine until I went ahead and bought this crown canopy instead. The crown canopy is just as lightweight, folds down into an equally compact size, is absolutely simple to pop up and down by yourself once you've had a little practice, and has taken quite a beating without showing signs of breaking. 10/10, highly recommended!

I love everything about this tent. At first I was a bit concerned about the velcro attachments that adhere the tent to it’s frame, but now that I’ve worked multiple flea markets without any issues related to that, I no longer have those concerns. I’m generally very happy with this tent. The reflective coating on the interior really does keep the sun off of everything under the tent. I Love the red & white stripe pattern that I chose for my tent , but the most important qualities of this tent have little to do with the color of the fabric. The quality of the fabric is great, I find it easy to clean and weather resistant enough to protect the items I keep on display underneath it at the flea markets I vend at. The most important aspect of this tent is how easy it is to put up and take down . I’m a five foot 1 inches tall middle aged woman who weighs 125 pounds. I can easily set up , take down and transport this tent all by myself. I do wish that the wheels were a bit more substantial in size and that the tent didn’t flip around so easily when I try to wheel it back and forth from one place to another, but the tent is light enough that I can usually just carry it if the flipping around becomes an issue. Overall I love this tent. It’s the best one I’ve used. You won’t be sorry if you choose this tent . The stakes are also easy to use and it comes with empty sand/ dirt/ gravel bags that you fill yourself and use for weighing down the tent during windy or stormy weather. Both work really well. The case is great too. The face that the case has two little tabs that stick into the wheels to keep it on , in addition to the zipper & snapping clasp , is fantastic. Overall, it’s a wonderful tent you’ll be happy you bought it unless you’re expecting it to be weather proof shelter or something , but as a vendor tent it’s really great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase!

I have nothing but great things to say about this tent. We purchased for use during travel sports for our kids. The fact that it can be set up & put away by one person is amazing in & of itself. An added bonus is that it packs away easily and has wheels so you can roll it and don't have to carry it. It's very sturdy and not cheaply made like the ones you'll find at Walmart or similar stores. We've owned a couple brands and this is the best purchase for the price. Definitely recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to put up, well made

got the 8'x8' one. Very well made with thoughtful latches and easy up parts. It's easy to put up, but I'm 5' and needed a tall person's assistance or would have had to stand on something. For a small person it is also rather heavy. But it is a very nice quality, well made, tent. Canopy colors are rich and bright. Construction is not flimsy crap, which is probably why it's heavier than I expected. But I'd rather have the quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall, it's a great investment.

Wow! Protection from the summer sun and the rain! This is a good investment for me. I'm grateful that there were videos available on how to set it up, as they helped me a great deal. You don't have to be Doctor Octopus to set this up; I did so all by myself and it worked just fine. Two people would be nice, but not necessary. The instructions are really easy to understand, and there's a summary of the instructions on the storage bag that comes with it in case you forget something. I really enjoyed that. There are two plastic bullet-shaped tips attached to the bag (by canvas extensions) meant to keep the legs and the bag together during storage or moving, and it's really neat. One could easily forget how to store the tent in conjunction with the bag, so I just took a picture to remind myself. Yes, the tarp portion has to be installed on the frame.

I've used this a couple times, and my main reason for purchasing it was for my trips to the beach. I took one on yesterday, and it worked just fine. Word of advice... putting the legs underneath sand without the metal stays that come with it (or the bags intended for weight distribution) is not a good idea. I was in the water, and I looked back and noticed that someone (the wind) moved the entire tent!! I was like "What?! WHO has the NERVE to MOVE my #$%@ after all my hard work?!" I got out and saw lines in the sand! LOL!!! Well, I proceeded to put the stays in each of the plastic ports, and it didn't move anymore. (= Even when it started to rain (at an angle), it still provided protection for me. But most important was shade from the sun. It's got a neat 'exhaust' port at the top that allows for circulation and ventilation, and that's better that the port is in place.

Major likes:

1). Design
2). Color of the tent
3). Easy to assemble
4). Doesn't take up too much space

Now... on to my gripes:

1). There are multiple small receptacles meant to fit around a cylindrical head to attach the tent to the frame. They stay in place, but when the wind was blowing yesterday, one kept coming off. I put it back in place when I was preparing to leave (and storing the tent back into its bag), but it kept being stubborn! The others were fine, and eventually, I found a way to keep it in its place. Those U-shaped receptacles are rubber/plastic (?) and not sturdy enough; they may eventually loosen over time.
2). This tent is an attractant for flies. I noticed it when I initially set it up... there were two flies in my rear patio (where I unboxed the item), and I NEVER get flies in there. I thought to myself 'Did these jokers come packaged with this tent?!' but then I thought it was just a coincidence. After the initial setup, I noticed there was another fly underneath the tent! "Okay. This is ridiculous." I advised the fly to leave before I stored the tent in the bed of my truck. Whether or not it did? I do not know. On yesterday at the beach, there were about 4-5 flies underneath the tent AGAIN! And it's always the small ones! My deduction? They're attracted to something underneath there, and it ain't me! LOL!!! XD
3). This tent could've been preassembled by the manufacturer. What gives?!

Overall, it's a great investment. The wheels are awesome to be used, but only on a hard surface... I didn't even try to drag that thing through the sand cause it's not that light; I sat it up on my right shoulder and walked on through the sand. I worry about their longevity, though. Oh! The size of the tent! It's perfect! You can get it even taller if you'd like with the clamps that lock in place. I'm 6'6" and I did bump my head on the top portion of it, but I could've set it higher if I felt. The mechanism that locks it in place? Mwaa! Magnifico!

Okay. That's it for me. I'd give this bad boy 4.5 stars if I could, but a solid 4 stars. I hope this helps you in your decision. Take care and enjoy!
