About this item

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY – Loop Engage earplugs are the result of extensive research & development, combining an innovative acoustic channel and a newly-engineered filter for more engaging conversations.
LOW-LEVEL NOISE REDUCTION – Like other Loop products, Loop Engage qualify as Certified Hearing Protection. Engage provides low-level protection, meaning they block out the excess sound without affecting the things you need to hear (like your own voice).
ECHO-FREE SPEECH – Loop Engage address a challenge frequently faced by regular earplug wearers: that echoey, head-underwater feeling known as 'occlusion'. Loop Engage earplugs limit the occlusion effect, helping you interact with others more freely.
PERFECT FIT – All Loop earplugs are designed with both style and maximum comfort in mind. Every set comes with ear tips in 4 sizes: XS, S, M & L to help you find the perfect fit and a Carry Case to keep them safe. If your earplugs feel tight or uncomfortable, try a size smaller. If they don’t reduce noise sufficiently, try going a size up.
SUSTAINABLE & REUSABLE – Loop Engage earplugs come in eco-friendly packaging and, like all Loop products, are washable and intended for long-term, repeated use.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am in love!

These Engage earplugs are absolutely awesome. It took me a while to get my ears ready for them. At first, I had a lot of pressure on the left eardrum when inserted, while the right was comfortable. That was super frustrating. After some online research, it seemed I may have had some impacted wax in that left ear. I tried a drugstore wax dissolving/ear wash treatment for about a week or so in that ear. The treatment dislodged a lot of wax. Once that was over, I used some water drying agent in the ear (due to the water wash procedure) and some aquaphor just at the canal opening for healing. I tried the earplugs again, and all was pain free!

I have very very small ear canals, the XS tips work best for me with these. I have also used the Quiets for sleeping, but those XS tips seem bigger and I have ordered the XXS tips. It took quite a bit of practice, days of using 2 mirrors front and back simultaneously to see tip placement in my ears, for me to finally get proficient at inserting these properly. There are a lot of videos online, but honestly everyone's ear's are made unique and I feel there are many ways to get a good personalized fit. You need a comfortable fit and a good seal. It is an adventure to achieve both at the same time, but do not give up. It probably took me 2-3 weeks to finally be able to wear these as intended.

I think these are quite comfortable. I could probably do 3-4 hours without a break. They are not comfortable enough for sleeping. Eventually, I think I would be able to wear for an 8 hour day if necessary.

I purchased the clear. I want to wear them at work. I am a high school teacher in a STEM lab environment. I have 30+ students in a class. My space is concrete walls and floors with an open concept ceiling. There are power tools running, loud conversations, banging on projects with hammers, we have a wind tunnel (super loud), and the students like to have their music playing in the background. It is a great class to teach, but sometimes it is very overstimulating to be in all day long. I have 1-2 ninth grade classes a day each week, and they can be quite loud just in general due to the maturity level.

These bad boys tone things down for me. They take the edge off so I don't lose my mind. I can still hear the kids, but MUCH MUCH less loud. If I need to insert the Mutes, even better! I still can maintain engagement, but it is so much more tolerable to be in the room. Currently, I have them popped in, the kids do not know due them being clear, and I can actually think/grade/lesson plan while they do their thing. Everyone is happy and I am not a crabby grumpy teacher.

If I lost these I would 100% get online and repurchase. I NEED these for work, not everyday, but often. I keep the little case zipped up in my jacket chest pocket. It is so small that it is not even noticeable that I am carrying it around. I have asked for the Loop necklace strap thing for Christmas.

They do not cancel all noise, as this is not what they were designed for. They tone things down while still allowing you to participate in the environment. The Mutes do make things noticeably quieter and I feel they are worth it. Be careful to take them out with a twist to break the seal. If you just pull them out, the sudden change in pressure is somewhat of a discomfort to the eardrum.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought for dance competitions

My daughter is a dancer and we spend time at dance competitions. Some of them the music is turned up so loud it really bothers my ear and my head. These help tone it all down all while I was still able to hear what was going on around me. They just took the edge off the noise. They come with a case that can slide onto a hook of my keychain so I always have them with me. The price was fair for quality and durability. I chose to go with the clear once that way they were not as noticeable. They are way to put in and take out and are comfortable to wear.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure why these are so expensive (amended review)

They are like typical ear plugs to me and when volumes are at normal levels, they do not seem to cancel out much noise at all. I bought them because I am often around loud music that hurts my ears so I wonder if I should have ordered a pair with a a higher SNR rating. For only 18 dB they should not be as expensive as the ones with a higher rating. They fit in my ears snugly and comfortably for the most part but I haven’t tested them out for a long period yet to be able to tell how comfortable they are if worn for a longer period.
(A few days later after wearing in more places)
I can tell they are not just regular ear plugs because regular speech is still clearly audible. As with any plugs, I will need practice gauging my own volume when speaking when I have them in. When music was playing very loud, at my pain threshold (what I purchased these for) I could tell they cut the sound to a much more tolerable level, so overall, these serve the primary purpose I purchased them for and i am pleased with how they perform in a range of scenarios.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good to have!

It took me about a week to understand how to properly place these so that they would help muffle noise. Before I finally got it they weren't that comfortable at night and didn't reduce much noise. What works for me is to push them in from the top, then slide my finger about a quarter of the way around toward the front, and then push them the rest of the way into the ear canal. Now they will stay there and be comfortable to sleep in. It's nice that they don't fall out while I'm asleep. You may have a little trouble changing the tips but they are robust. Just pull them off. It takes a little effort to get them back on but is easy enough. I'm glad I bought these and think the design is very clever, and yes they are very helpful holding down noise. They are not noise cancelling, but significantly noise reducing. The little round carrying case is nice and colorful, so it won't be easy to lose! What I would like to see is a much thicker tip that you could buy extra to reduce noise even more. These are very nice to have and I would definitely buy them again, and will likely order a second pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent for overstimulation!

my neurospicy brain gets easily overstimulated in places with a ton of ambient noise like the grocery store, busy restaurants, even family gatherings with a lot of people and these are perfect for every occasion. they allow me to hear what i need to but block out the extra stimuli my brain can’t process. they are easy to use and very discreet. would 100% recommend again and again. definitely worth the money for the performance. i also love that they come in different colors (i have two pairs!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality

Loop earplugs are always good quality. Here’s a quick breakdown:

Ease of use: very easy to insert and they stay in place!
Sound: this style muffles most sounds, but you can still hear conversations although they sound a little muffled as well
Case: comes with its own case to keep them in which is great so the tips don’t pick up dust/dirt and it’s harder to lose them!
Size: mine came with 4 sets of tips XS-L with the Medium installed on the base. You have a way to mix and match tips to find the perfect fit for you.
Value: I highly recommend them! Not the least expensive ones but so much more comfortable and worth the money.
