I had zero idea what was happening the entire time and definitely had zero idea what was going on at the end of the book even more - good read though

Dark, grim and poetic ending to a great duology
Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2024
Heavy and a truly dark book. You feel the rage, fury, love, ruin and sacrifice along with the characters. It’s not unlike a really.good.therapy session where you get all of your inner demons out to play & by the end you are exhausted but feel so much lighter.
Vellene brings the feminine rage & fury out in full force. Eledar brings despair and self hatred. Poor guy can’t catch a break. Kadir brings love and sacrifice. Perhaps some lightness & hope. His POVs were my favorite. Mogaell… it was cool to see some backstory from her to understand her motivations some. I still just could not get to a point of liking her. B can certainly burn.
The world building and magic explanation in the first book make this book easy to understand and it flows nicely in that way.
The writing feels truly unique and I love that. It’s poetic and beautifully stylistic. I really feel the author put her heart & soul into this book.
I rate it slightly lower than the first book. On personal preference alone. It is a very difficult book to read for me. Not on content but in the stylistic sense. I truly love the uniqueness of it but it is at times a bit TOO metaphorical where I couldn’t tell what is actually supposed to be happening. Many times I wasn’t sure how the characters got from one place to the other. I chalk it up to me missing the meaning behind a metaphor. I wanted a few more straight forward explanations. Especially around the Gods? The Ruin, Fury, Death thing got lost on me. I think the characters were representations of those emotions which stemmed from gods?
Also not sure that the ending was wrapped up as nicely as I would have liked. Buuutt nothing about this book suggested a nice wrap up!
Overall a wonderful book and conclusion of the duology. If you want something different, outside the usual, and very truly dark give it a shot!

Power in the Words

This story is truly dark in every since. But the story shows the we as humans are also dark and extremely complex as each character in this story is. One of the traits the characters of the " light " have that I liked online the story was their loyalty and devotion to each other and see each other beyond their flaws. To bad humanity didn't do this more. This story makes you Feel! From the pain and betrayal of the characters as children to many of the characters as they grow. I didn't want the story to end and hoped for a wrapped up ending, but the ending leaves you with the hope that a mothers love will win.

Big fan of this authors multiverse full of feminine rage so it was a no brainer to snatch this book as soon as it was available. I found that was written so …lyrically, in that it’s chalk full of ups and downs for every character and moves so fast as a reader that I felt like I road a rollercoaster when i inevitably devoured it in one day. When It was over and immediately started rereading it again and I’m already finding details I missed the first time because I was so enveloped in certain plots and characters.
This is a great read and definitely opens the reader to wanting to read other books from this author which I think is a great way to write a multiverse. Unlike other authors in this genre who might have one or two smaller connections within stories to their other books, this particular series really feels thoughtful in how it’s connected and I can’t wait to see how it plays out in her other books soon to come.

Great world building duology

This is the second book in the Alchemight series and it starts right where book #1 left off. The author does an amazing job of describing this multiverse to the point you feel like you are right there with the characters. The character building and the dynamics of the relationships is phenomenal. This was a tough book to read, lots of emotion and trauma with all the characters but I truly enjoyed the journey.

This book picks up right where the first one ends and does it have it all. This book will have you feeling everything. Enjoyed the plot, the characters, the twist and turns. Was hooked from the start! Excited to see where this multiverse of rage will go next.
