5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising, Excellent and Fun!

The book starts with the aftermath of the last book and then quickly gets exciting. A deity needs a favor and Evelyn gets to experiment with magic. Then Evelyn’s extended family come calling for an event that the author wrote really well. The event itself is crazy but that’s normal considering Evelyn comes from a clan of fey. Then the end comes in a bang with a nice open end that leaves readers with a satisfying conclusion but wanting the next book as soon is it can be written.

This book has some nice character growth for Evelyn as she reunites with her parents and they deal with missing much of her childhood. The harem members don’t get as much focus although Fya has potentially found the best possible addition for Evelyn to invite along on her journey. Syndy is the most lovable character that really offers so much potential. Djinn and fey make for interesting parties and there’s a lot more that was extremely interesting.

Evelyn has earned the scrutiny of other Powers and the author does a good job of showing who has a potential interest and why, while leaving it vague to keeps readers guessing. Some big world building hints were dropped. Readers will be excited to see where everything is going to go next as Evelyn goes from adventure to adventure in the episodic format the author mainly uses in this series.

Syndy is best side character introduced yet.

I love this series. Now I have to reread it or read Medrano's others. I love all of the characters. Very entertaining and always some new challenges to overcome. I can't wait to see how Mara develops.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the characters

This isn't Benjamin's best series, but it definitely benefits from his skill as a writer and his attention to character development. Its been a while since the first book in this series came out and Evelyn Esendria Tarth's harem has slowly grown in book after book as her power has become better defined. We know that in many ways she is a bit of a "Mary Sue" due to her phenomenal power, but rather than allow the power to define her and the plot, Benjamin works to make the conflicts work around the character's themselves and their wants and needs.

This addition to the series falls back to the pattern closer to the first couple of books with the overall novel containing a number of smaller mostly self-contained sub-plots that move the relationships and characters forward while having some references back to each other, allowing for the continuity that makes a tale interesting.

I'll still say that the Ancient Dream's series (especially the first 3 books) is superior, but this is one of the better stories I've encountered this year and I admit that I'm looking forward to the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this Universe!

I love the universe and these books! It's just so fun. Almost like a parody and pretty funny at times, but it all just works and makes sense as well.

In this book in particular, I really liked how the main character got isekai'ed. It was just like all those light novels where some intrepid hero is asked to go save a kingdom from an undead horde, or demons or something; Only the intrepid hero is Evelyn Essendria Tarth. Just imagine the beautiful, caring princess desperately summoning help from the goddess, and then Evelyn Tarth comes out of the summoning circle. It was great.
