About this item

The ultimate, comprehensive investigation into the life and career of Vice President Kamala Harris from former Washington Examiner and Breitbart News political reporter Charlie Spiering.

Who is the real Kamala Harris? And how did she ascend to the second highest office in the country? Despite her limited experience in national politics and confusing professional history, there hasn’t been a comprehensive examination of Vice President Kamala Harris’s journey to the White House...until now. Find out how the San Francisco socialite turned politico fast-tracked her way onto the national stage, only to lose the faith of her base and her president.

With exclusive reporting and a detective’s eye, Charlie Spiering delivers the first-ever deep dive into Kamala Harris’s hilarious, incompetent, radical path to the vice presidency. From her tumultuous tenure as California prosecutor to the fiery interrogator in the United States Senate, then to her disastrous presidential campaign and finally, her calamitous first years in executive office, this is an unfettered look at the woman who is only one heartbeat away from leading the free world.

Very interesting book detailing positives but mainly negatives of KH’s professional history. Since I am a Republican I can wholeheartedly endorse this very readable book. If I were a Democrat I might trash it.
Very worth reading for anyone over 14. Worth reading COMPLETELY before anyone votes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well researched and prescient

This book was well timed and presciently foreshadows Harris' clumsy and inept campaign in the 2024 race. The author is a writer for right-wing websites, but the book is well researched and never comes off glib or overly biased. It does provide a realpolitik examination of Harris' political career, especially her ineptitude in front of TV cameras, as well as her rise in San Francisco as the girlfriend and acolyte of Willie Brown, the powerful San Francisco mayor who was twice her age. Overall, the book is a very interesting look at an under-qualified person in high political office, and the cynical maneuvering that brought her there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thorough bio of Harris - a must read!

As someone who follows the news, I preordered this book after hearing an interview with the author. This book is extremely timely and well-researched. Although it highlights Harris's faults and foibles, it is journalistic and provides the narrative in a matter-of-fact way.
It's no secret that the news media has often overlooked Harris's history and record. This book, however, steps in to fill those gaps, providing the facts I need to discuss her record with friends and share insights that others may not be aware of.
As an aside, the documentary "Scamala" by Ben Shapiro (produced by Daily Wire) covers nearly all the points in this book. Watching it before and after reading the book gives me an introduction and review of nearly the entire book.
This is a well-written book and is highly recommended for anyone who wants to become better acquainted with talking points about this important political figure.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's just the facts.......

One critical review says "This is just a Trumpian fabrication." I reported it because nothing could be further from the truth. I lived in the California Bay Area for 60 years and followed Ms. Harris' exploits in the news from when her affair with Willy Brown brought her into the limelight. Yes, we read newspapers way back then. And, yes, she made the news.

So although most of Harris' history is well known, it was helpful to have the consolidation in the beginning of the book which acted as a memory jog. It must have been a painful research project to compile that information about Harris and I am pleased to see all of that cited.

The near-history of Harris' selection as VP was also known information as the press, even at times the liberal press, has salivated over and emphasized her gaffs and goofs. So what the author has done is to make the point that this person was selected for gender and race, not for talent and effectiveness. And once she did her job (to get the votes), she's been sidelined. Even the current administration doesn't want to hear from her. The left can't dispense with her because they could anger those who only vote for gender and race as well as admit that her selection as Joe Biden's successor was wrong. It is deplorably wrong.

The people who need to read this book, undoubtedly won't. And the people who do read it are probably like me, already clued in on the far-left insanity of Harris' thinking.

Although I know almost everything about Kamala Harris pre-VP from reading another book about her a few years ago, it's helpful to be reminded that her politics and behavior should be feared. She's not only crazy, she a menace to the U.S. Citizens. I read a lot of political books and this one is concise and well written. I am pleased with this purchase and am passing the book on to my son to read. I recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could've Been Better, as the Thesis is So Easy to Prove

Considering I agree with the premise, that Kamala Harris is in way over her head and it is is alarming that she's our VP, why did I give this book only three stars?

Because the author tips his hand with his quips right away. It's as if he's saying: "Hi, I'm Charlie Spiering and I don't think much of Kamala Harris, and I'm going to tell you that. I'll throw you a lot of red meat, like the time she snarfed and spit out coffee on her white blazer, or when she had three martinis and slurred her words." (NOTE: The author didn't really write any of that and I made up the hypotheticals, but it demonstrates the petty shots he takes at her.)

This book is great fodder for the "Look, Joe Biden went the wrong way off stage again, haha!" crowd, of which I am NOT part.

He is our president, she is our vice president. I did not vote for them, nor would I again. But I'm not interested in the "My Pillow Guy" type of "political analysis," and this book could've been a home run had it been more scholarly.

Nonetheless, it is by no means a total loss, and I learned some things, such as details about when Joe Biden realized that Harris wasn't going to be who he hoped she'd be, and their relationship got icy.

I'd still encourage people to buy the book, and it will earn a spot in my prime real estate presidential library collection.

I haven’t read many books like this. While I don’t agree with Ms. Harris politics, I was shocked by the climb she made together to where she is. I did not know that money and people you know are what matters. I am 67 Years old and I thought she had some integrity and cared about her constituents. She is hard nosed and only thinks about her power.

Nothing surprising or earthshattering in this book. As someone who stays informed of the political news, I did not find anything that I didn't already know. Although, I was surprised on page 132 to find out that in 1992 officers who had been "charged in the death of Rodney King" were acquitted of that charge (Rodney King didn't die until 2012).
