About this item

I was sent to Isaiah Ranch for a second chance at life—not love.

For two years, I’ve ignored the presence of the beautiful man whose heart I broke. Despite working on the same ranch, searching for the same redemption, I’ve managed to avoid Reed.

Years ago, I walked away because Reed deserved better than a pathetic loser like me. He was destined for greater things, and I would only drag him down. I left him to save him, breaking both our hearts.

But my luck has run out. Circumstances force Reed and me together, and it turns out our flame was never extinguished. If anything, it burns hotter and brighter now we’re older.

It’s the second chance I never thought I’d get.

When history repeats itself, and a false allegation threatens not just Reed’s freedom but the love we’ve rekindled, I’ll do whatever it takes to find the real culprit and clear Reed’s name.

Because this time, I’m not walking away.

Romeo has done it again. His final book in the Isaiah Ranch series if full of romance and fire between the two main characters. The story line is great with just the right amount of heat between the ex lovers.

Love this book. Love the series. Romeo is a great student of the human heart, and so talented at portraying the joy of love and living in the face of the disasters life throws one’s way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Romance In Audio!

This is a review for the audiobook. This is a well written, slow burn, second chance romance. The audiobook was a good narrative, which
does have the narrator having different voicing for each character. This was consistent throughout this long story.

Leon and Reed loved one another as teens then life got in the way and they spent years before seeing one another again. When they meet again it at the ranch where they did not expect the other to be there. Its both rocky and sweet to watch their progress.

This last book in the Isaiah Ranch series stole my heart. Leon and Reed were briefly mentioned in the first books, but this story with incredible descriptive prose showed their love for one another couldn’t tarnish over the years!
I really loved these guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Leon and Reed

This is the third book in the Isaiah Ranch series, a place where convicts who qualify for the program finish out their sentences, working on the ranch within a controlled environment and program geared toward eventually graduating and carrying on their lives as free men. There are three tiers the men work through, each one with more responsibility and less supervision, with mentors to help in the first two stages, mentors having reached Tier One.

Leon and Reed are both Tier One, and have a past history as friends and lovers from their teens. They unexpectedly met up again at the ranch a few years ago and pretty much avoided each other where possible, but the old feelings are still there, tamped down, but simmering under the surface. Reed was an MD before ending up in jail, and has been working at the clinic since he arrived, using his medical skills as an EMT. Leon is a mentor for Reno and Elliot from book 2, Close Quarters, so part of this book overlaps with some of their antics, but it is mostly about the reconnection and growing romantic relationship between Reed and Leon. Their past history plays into their interactions, how well they knew each other’s backgrounds and the things that motivated them then, and how those things play into this new relationship more than a decade later. The reconnection builds slowly over time, with both supporting each other when needed. When accusations fly against one, the other stops at nothing to clear his lover’s name, and there is a HEA that is fitting for the story and series.

Very relatable characters, excellent world building of the ranch and the program, an unexpected twist or two, and interesting enough to submerge myself in the story and root for these two men to regain the love they lost so many years ago. Would recommend the whole series.

Reed and Leon were inseparable from the age of 6 to age 19 m what started as a strong friendship turned into so much more. At age 19, Reed went off to medical school. Their friendship drifted, and they hadn't seen each other again until they met up again at Mr. Isaiah's ranch for convicts.

I would love more about Mona. She is one tough lady. Oh, and Dom!!!!!! That really got me. I did not see that coming. I loved him and wanted his HEA.

This is the 3rd, and I heard the final in this series. Each book follows a different couple, and all have their HEA.  I do suggest you read the whole series. They characters are in all the books.

Reed and Leon dance around each other until they are thrown together by Mona. Growing up together and then going on two different paths surprises both when they see each other again. The program brings them together but it takes a couple of years before they find the courage to act. With a couple of hiccups stalling them, the two find their dream together at the ranch! love the book!.
