I received an excellent sale price on this fire pit. I wanted one that could double as an outdoor grill when needed. I was very surprised at how deep and large this was. I am seeking a grate for the bottom to protect the metal, but this was easy to assemble and looks fantastic! Definitely a ton better than the one I had to recently send to the scrap yard.

It's been working great. Easily holds enough wood for a good size fire, and the frames is sturdy. As long as you keep it covered while not in use and don't dump water in to quench (dump sand on it) the fire it doesn't rust.

Con: A) As advised by other user's comments, the bolts that are provided do not match up very will (too short). I purchased longer ones with the same thread (so I could use the supplied nuts) and it assembled fine.
B) The Veranda 71942 Square cover that is suggested is not a good fitting cover for this unit. I purchased a tarp at a local store and adapted it to fit.
Pro: The unit is very attractive and burns well. Light and easy to move in and out of storage.The grill that was provided worked well.

Can be and is used for burning excess paper and cardboard. Really nice for a couple of medium size chunks of wood or the fire logs made of burnable material we bought at Walmart and Lowes

I've gone through a few firepits. A lesson I learned is that if the base is anything adding to the stress, the metal will rust with heat/cold/rain and soften like a sponge. This one has a solid base that's as stress-free as possible.

it's also a great size, kinda bigger than I thought somehow, which is great. Great airflow. Oh yeah, very easy to assemble.

Still no warping with the spark screen/cover ????????
I get home on Friday, generally evening, and make a fire. Saturday, due to the colder weather in PA, I I'll burn a fire all day into the evening.

Literally, just a few minutes to assemble out of the box. It calls for a phillips head screwdriver. However ...for those of you without a handyman/hubby around, a sturdy butter knife or a wide tipped flathead screwdriver will work just fine.
As you can see, by design, the heat is dispersed all the way around. And there is Plenty of room for Plenty of logs. I wouldn't, however, place extra large ones in there.
My first fire (yesterday) I could hear the metal stressing, so, I bought some lava rock, placed a good layer of it and edged (the inside of course) with some old bricks.
It's pretty sturdy considering the lighter weight, so don't be too concerned about that.

I got my new fire pit just in time for the first weekend that evening temps went down into the 60s and it was perfect timing. First of all, this thing is huge inside and can hold a tremendous amount of wood, or charcoal if you desire. I absolutely love the grill grate on it and when we fired it up on Saturday night, we cooked hot dogs over the fire. What was also neat was that we could place the buns on the grate as well to toast them up a little. The raised ledges in the bottom provided really good air flow so that the fire was easy to start and maintain. I bought 4 16 x 16 patio pavers to place under the pit and it not only made it look great, but it gave me a little extra piece of mind using it out in the grassy areas. I cannot be happier with this fire pit and only hope it holds up well for the future. I have also purchased a cover for it and hope that this will help with the rust problems that others have mentioned. I totally recommend this product for relaxing out in the backyard with your family, friends, and some good food as well.

I like the fact that it can be used with logs instead of wood and it has a grill so you can actually cook over it as well . A beautiful piece for a small price!
