This monitor is probably the top 3 best budget monitors out there. This monitor has a very good refresh rate, very good picture quality, very good settings included in it, and it take about 2 minutes or under to set up, they also made the design of the monitor look very sleek and nice. The only negative thing i have to say about it is that the speakers are not the best but a 20 dollar headphone fixes it all. This monitor also has a blue light filter which is very nice and comfortable to use. I would recommend this to Gamers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Choice For An Inexpensive 32-inch 1080P Gaming Monitor!
Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2024
I bought this for use as a 1080P gaming monitor and it does it very well. The only issue I have had in using it, out of the box, is that Windows did not properly recognize the monitor out of the box and simply installed it as a Generic Monitor, so I had to obtain a monitor driver from ASUS Support website, in order to get the monitor properly installed. Normally, this software would be included on a flash drive, but ASUS has decided not to do so and that may be how things are done these days. Even though this is an AMD FreeSync monitor, it will work very well with Nvidia G-Sync GPUs, but you will not get the same level of control or automatic function with refresh rate controls, so keep that in mind if you want to use it for PC gaming.

Ideally, you'd hook up a gaming PC, PS5, and Xbox Series console to this monitor, to take advantage of the VRR/FreeSync feature and that's exactly what I've done, so I am getting the most I can out of it. The only thing I that I absolutely do not like about this monitor is the base stand, as the bottom of the monitor sits very close to whatever surface you put the monitor on, which means that you will have to put the monitor on top of something, to elevate the screen to the appropriate height to comfortably view the monitor and access it's right-rear side controls. The built-in speakers provide loud-enough sound, at an acceptable level of quality for a monitor with speakers, so you can certainly use it for gaming or media/everyday stuff, though I recommend running good powered speakers off the monitor's headphone/speaker jack, if you really want better sound that doesn't involve using a gaming headset.

All things considered, I'm quite happy with my purchase and intend to buy more of these, for use with my HDMI-equipped retro gaming consoles.

5.0 out of 5 stars No eye strain! (unlike IPS/VA versions) Great colors! Fast!
Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2024
I had purchased the IPS version of this series, and could not get used to it. I've come from a history of using TN panels, and was going to switch to IPS for desktop monitor. But the IPS version of the Asus Tuf gaming monitors just made my eyes hurt (yes, I adjusted all settings, toned down brightness, etc). After MUCH deliberation, I figured I should try this TN panel version, and WOW, instantly my eyes felt better using them. Especially at any angle. I can't describe it well, but the IPS versions was like I could feel/sense the backplane light panel being about a 1/4" inch away from the front LCD array (you can REALLY tell when looking at an angle at the edge of the screen... like looking through a projecter 24/7).

Anyways, this monitor is awesome. I'm running two, primarily for work/engineering, then gaming after hours (when I can!). 144hz is enough for me, I run these at 120hz, beyond that I don't notice much additional smoothness. I highly recommend these TN Asus Gaming monitors!

PRO-TIP: Be sure your computer is outputting full RGB range colors! If using HDMI, and sometimes DisplayPort too, your PC will limit colors to a "Limited" range, making colors look washed out, faded, not as bold. Trust me, the colors on this monitor are awesome and bold! Don't be fooled by Windows!

5.0 out of 5 stars Affordable, Top Quality Gaming Monitor
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024
I was honestly surprised by how much quality came from a $120 monitor. This is definitely a buy and I would buy more if I had a bigger desk.

The ASUS VG248QG 24" G-SYNC Gaming Monitor is a fantastic choice for gamers seeking a competitive edge. With its 165Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms response time, this monitor delivers incredibly smooth and responsive gameplay, making it ideal for fast-paced games where every millisecond counts.

One of the standout features is the G-SYNC compatibility, which ensures that screen tearing and stuttering are minimized, providing a seamless and immersive gaming experience. The Full HD resolution (1920x1080) on a 24-inch screen strikes a good balance between clarity and performance, ensuring that games look sharp without putting too much strain on your graphics card.

The monitor's ergonomic design is another plus, offering tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments to find the perfect viewing angle. The build quality feels robust and durable, which is typical of ASUS products. Additionally, the monitor includes several gaming-centric features like ASUS GamePlus and GameVisual, which enhance the gaming experience through customizable crosshairs, timers, and color settings.

On the downside, the monitor's color accuracy and viewing angles are not as impressive as those of higher-end IPS panels, but this is a common trade-off for the speed and responsiveness of a TN panel. Also, while the built-in speakers are a convenient addition, they lack the depth and clarity that dedicated external speakers or headphones can provide.

Overall, the ASUS VG248QG offers excellent performance for its price point, making it a solid investment for gamers looking to upgrade their setup. Its combination of high refresh rate, low response time, and G-SYNC compatibility makes it a standout option in the crowded market of gaming monitors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great response time and 180hz, although doesn't come with a DVI Cable.
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2024
The monitor is great, has very good response time, Good 180hz and the color is very customizable to your liking, The only things i don't like about the monitor would be that there are very small black borders around the screen as if it is a digital bezel on the monitor, Also it did not come with a DVI cord and only an HDMI cord. Other than that the monitor is great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best bang for your buck

This is probably the best monitor that you will get in this price zone. The color is great, the stand that comes with it has great adjustability and is quite sturdy for the price. It is great for gaming with its 180 hz and low response time.
