About this item

What do you get when you mix a mobster with the son of the yakuza?

A marriage bathed in blood.

I never expected to be getting married, but when a business opportunity lands in my lap, I know I have to take it. After all, my family means the world to me. I’ll do anything to keep them safe, even if it’s entering a marriage that’s nothing more than convenience so I can pop out an heir.

However, that’s not what happens. The Hayashi’s pull a fast one and I’m left with a snarling godd*mn hellhound on my hands. Harlow is nothing like the demure, sweet woman I signed up for. No, he’s got teeth and he knows how to use them.

There’s no going back.

I’ll either fall in love or bury another lover.

The third book in the Vitale brother series. Each book can be listened to as a standalone. HEA guaranteed. (Will be released before December PreOrder date)

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect hot mafia romance!!!
Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2024
Benito intended to take a bride to bridge a truce between his family and his enemies. But his bride turned into a groom. A psychotic, knife weilding one. He met his match in Harlow. Harlow was always a pawn. Unloved by his father and cruelly abused, he never has anyone love or care for him. Then he meets the hardened Italian mafia leader and sparks fly. But can there ever be more? This is book three in the series. I would highly recommend you read these books in order. The brothers and their partners from book one and two are included in this book. This is well written. The characters are fleshed out and amazing. I loved Harlow from jump. He hides his emotions behind crazy. But deep down he is an injured soul who doesn't believe he can be loved. Benito has alot on his shoulders. He is the head of his family. He is shocked by his attraction to Harlow. I loved how open Harlow was with his sexuality. He was hilarious. The two together are so mix matched that they are perfect. There is alot of drama. Some violence. Knife play. Choking. Spanking and so much more! These two together are a raging fire storm!!! I couldn't put this book down and stayed up all night reading. I can't wait for the next book in the series! I need more!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Too Funny

Has Big, Bad, Boss, Benito finally met his match in Harlow? Yeah, if it's a match made in Hades. Despite the extreme violence this story is funny. I know, I know, but as Harlow might say, yeah it's bloody, gruesome, blah blah blah, but soooo funny. I was actually laughing out loud. Even the sex, though off the charts hot, erotic, steamy, and insanely depraved was, wait for it...funny! I had to delete 1 star because of the gaping holes (keep your minds out the gutter people) in the plot. By the end of the story it was almost a farce but the Authors are so good at what they do I didn't mind looking past some ridiculous scenarios since I was laughing so hard I didn't care!

Benito and Harlow were so intense together. They hated and loved each other with the same intensity. I have to say the parents of these two leave a lot to be desired. I don't know how they became so loyal and caring with their role models. Harlow is trouble with a capital T. He also has a very soft side underneath for those he loves. I knew Benito was really hurt by Brycen, but I hadn't realized that he had never dealt with it. I am glad he was finally able to with help from Harlow and his brothers. I love the merry band of Tex, Ash, and Harlow. Harlow doesn't seem like he would fit, but he does in a strange way. They are adorable as parents. I am so excited for the next book.

    3.0 out of 5 stars it’s ok

I’m usually a big fan of brea alepou’s work but this book was just ok for me. I felt like it could’ve been alot better. As much as you read throughout the book we are never given a glimpse into Harlow past. Like there is really not much to go on about the kind of life he led and the things that happened to him to make him become who he is today and we never find out. There is also benito who we find out more about but we never see what he does to the picture of his ex that he keeps secretly stored away. Then there’s the villain of the story who never gets his ending he deserves and knowing next book is Gianpaolo we’re never going to read how Harlow will overcome his past and his emotions on it nor his thoughts on his family. There is just so much unsaid and unwritten.
The other part that really bugged me is that Harlow is half Japanese and half American. But his name is Harlow which is not very traditional for a Japanese name even if he is half. Like how all the vitale brothers have Italian names. If you’re going to write about another culture you need to entirely embrace the whole idea of it or just write Harlow as Irish mafia since it would be more believable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unhinged
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2024
Definitely the most unhinged couple I've ever read. Neither of them is happy with the marriage imposed on them, and the bloody fight is their only form of communication.
Benito, whose patience was tested in the first two books, now has to deal with a husband who manages to drive him crazy. Harlow is completely insane and his solution to everything is to stab people left and right, but little by little he will discover that he can feel more emotions than deep hatred.
Believe it or not, they make a super nice and funny couple to read about. The last 25% of the book had me with a smile on my face.
Although the books are quite long, they are thoroughly enjoyable with a plot that deserves its length and never gets boring.
The Vitales have won my heart. Don't be afraid of red flags and go read them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Queer sexiness
Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2024
Had to leave a review for this one. I really enjoy this series but was obsessed with this one. It is nice to see more queer overtones in books and Harlow nailssssss it.
I also like that they are equally matched in terms of power dynamics. No submission in this oneeeeee.
Always have been into the aloof, cold type vibe that cracks like an egg from just the right amount of pressure ie Harlow brings the pressure to Benito.
Spice level was chef’s kiss and the scenes were diversified ????????????????????????????????????????

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't get enough of these two!
Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2025
I am not even joking when I say that I would give this book 10 stars if I could. It is without a doubt the best book I've read in a long time. I usually end up tuning out half way through a really long book but not with this one. I couldn't get enough of Benito and Harlow. I loved absolutely everything about them. I'm honestly not sure whether I liked the vicious fights or the hate sex more. I don't think I've ever been so entertained by a book. I was truly sad to get to the end.
