Hard to believe this kettle is only $75 when comparing to others in its class. It is most accurate when at least half full of water. Here are my pros and cons
Pros:
1) intuitive and easy to use
2) both F and C are adjustable by single degrees
3) no water comes in contact with plastic
4) very comfortable handle and well-balanced
5) rubber grip on lid prevents burning your hands
6) goose neck provides good flow control from slow to fast
7) good temp accuracy
8) very fast to boil
Cons:
1) Temp accuracy is poor when kettle is lower on water
2) high power rating may cause circuit breakers to pop
After doing some testing, it became clear that this kettle is extremely accurate when it’s at least halfway filled with water. When below halfway filled, it can vary from 5 to 15° off. In these situations, I will set my temperature. Let the kettle finish bringing water to temp. Turn kettle off and back on. Turn dial until temperature reading flashes. This is the actual temperature of the water and it is very accurate. I normally use the kettle at least halfway full. But I have also gotten used to temp variances when it is lower on water. I find it quite easy to adjust to.
Highly recommended for an alternative to more expensive kettles. Great value at $75 for sure.

*update* after using this kettle for about a month, I began to have a minor problem with the lid in which the handle became loose very easily. I contacted OXO to see if I could order a replacement lid and they graciously sent me a replacement unit. Great experience with their customer service!
*September 2020 update* I've had this kettle for two and a half years now and I think it still works perfectly for my daily tea sessions! I've used descaler several times to clean the interior and have found that to be very effective for maintenance. I’ve included pictures taken after a recent descaling session. All things considered, I'm glad I have this kettle and I would buy it again if given the option to redo my kettle purchase. Looking back, I still feel impressed with the great experience I had with the OXO customer service team. I also still enjoy how convenient this kettle is in terms of quickly boiling, holding a temperature for up to 30 minutes, and displaying a timer with the press of a button. I love making tea and I love this kettle for doing such a great and consistent job.
*April 2023 update* After five years, the heating unit is now broken and will not heat anymore. RIP faithful kettle :,(
