The server was delivered with:
1. E5-2409 1st gen (4 cores/4 threads)
2. 2x4GB of DDR3 1333
3. No Drive caddies
4. 1x750w PSU
5. 2 Heatsinks (thanks you for that)
6. 8 Fans
Pros:
1. iLO works perfectly
2. Smart Array P420i Controller
3. 4-port 1GB/s Adapter
4. Motherboard is clean, looks like new.
Cons:
1. The chassis is a bit bent (probably due to shipping). Does not effect overall performance
2. E5-2609v1 only supports 1066MHz memory, so the one that came with it worked slower
3. Front USB ports look devastated (all tho they work)
4. Previous BIOS configurations are from the previous owner
After a month of use, i can tell that there are not significant "bad spots" on this particular machine.
I ordered 2x E5-2640v2 (8core/16thread) and another 88GB of RAM with the same specs as the one included. At first the machine reported that both procs are dead, so after a few hours of HPE support chat - they provided a special microcode patch and the server is now working.
I installed a NVMe SSD via PCI-e adapter and a USB 3.0 card in the PCI-e slots on the raiser. Added smart caddies and a second Power supply, recieved a free iLO licence and now it's a complete machine.
Works flawlessly. Fans ramp up from 19% to 22%. Power draw - 87 up to 197 watts under full load
Recommending this!
