A gripping read, full of first-hand accounts from those who helped win the fundamental rights that had so long eluded women . . and that today are threatened by those who seek to erode them. Herein lies the inspiration to guard against reversals and double down in finishing what these heroes worked so hard to accomplish.

This book has something for everyone - whether you're a sports fan, follower of politics, or just enjoy a good narrative, you will find a thread (or many threads!) to engage you in this exhilarating ride through the women's movement. They say timing is everything, and it feels extremely important to remember right now the freedoms women have been fighting for. This is not, however, a book just for women to read - Bingham's ability to thread a narrative will appeal to readers of all genders.

This book brings alive, in minute detail, the battle for women's rights on all fronts during this key period from 63-73. it is a brilliant account of all the key players and the fabric of the movement. As so many of these fundamental advances are under attack and in danger, it is so important to have this history documented to inform how we all engage now.

Bingham's oral history of the women's movement could not come at a better time. Transporting you to the past while still reminding you of the connection to the present, The Movement is a must-read ahead of what is bound to be a chaotic election season.

I cannot recommend this book enough. The women of the movement tell their fascinating and vital stories in their own words. What a gift Bingham has created for us and it could not be more timely.
