Nothing special about this ice maker. Pros is that it makes ice. Cons is that it is loud and at times it doesn't stop making ice. So keep your eye on it

Update: Tina from ecozy reached out to me about my review. This was a first forme ever. But anyways she asked me some questions about the ice maker so I told her why was wrong and after our conversation she sent me a new ice maker.

So I cleaned the new one and low and behold there is no buzzing sound and the machine isn't loud at all. No issues with the ice continuing to make when full. I now give this machine a 5 star review and let me tell you this their customer service is top notch. Thanks again Tina. As I would have just dealt with it if you wouldn't have sent me that message.

I don't normally write reviews, but eCozy turned what could have been a very negative experience into a very positive one. I ordered this machine on May 6th as a gift for my husband for us to have at our cottage. We did not open it until July 2nd, in preparation for our 4th of July Holiday Party. The machine was defective out of the box. After following the troubleshooting instructions, I emailed the company directly, as I was well outside of the 30 day Amazon return policy window. Tina from eCozy responded quickly, and sent me an additional trouble shooting step. I followed her instructions, sent photos of the error code and my invoice, and she confirmed that the machine was in fact defective, and that they would ship out a replacement at no cost to me. I received the replacement the morning of July 5th, had it up and running 2 hours later (I needed to let the refrigerant settle), and we had 2 full bags of ice by the end of the night! We're thrilled with this little ice maker, and extremely pleased with eCozy's customer service.

The media could not be loaded.
It makes ice and makes it pretty quick. Turned up to the highest freeze time (extending default creation time) and the ice comes out in one rectangular chunk of 30 little cubes or so. The inner basket and holding tank is all plastic so don't plan on cracking the chunk into little pieces in the unit or you'll most likely end up cracking the basin and leaking water.

If you want large chunks (12"x3"x1") of ice that don't break up easily, this is your product. Easy to use, easy to clean and looks great, just wish it had ice CUBES and not ice chunks.

Customer Service reached out to me and they are incredible. They first offered a number of solutions including a full refund. Very easy to work with and they stand behind their product. While this ice maker may not be right for everyone, I would certainly purchase from them again. Their customer service alone makes up for a little, if any, additional cost. Updated from 3 to 4 stars for awesome customer service. They also allowed me to replace the unit for a the 8 cube one which works awesome.

Attached are some pictures of the 26lb unit. Comparisons of the small and large cubes. Very happy with the unit and makes ice fast. Keep in mind you do need to transfer the cubes to a freezer within a reasonable amount of time as it is not cooled in the tray and the ice cubes start to melt after a period of time. Watch out and make sure you get all the tape off inside the unit from shipping. There is one in the back that is hard to get with bigger fingers. Great little ice machine.

I purchased this in late June because my other ice machine was taking to long to make a sufficient number of ice cubes. When I got it I let it sit a week and a half before opening it. After opening the package it sat overnight to get settled. The ice was great at first. After a week the machine was making very loud ear piercing noises. This continued off and on mostly on. We contacted the ECOZY website. We worked with Tina. She said to put vinegar in the machine and let it sit for 4 hours. We let it sit with vinegar for 8 hours. Then we ran 2 cycles of distilled water through the machine. Tina said to run drinking water through the machine. We are doing this and the machine is still making ear piercing horrible noises.. Oh yes at Tina's request we sent a video with all of the horrible noises it makes at the ECOZY facility. Haven't heard anything back from her. This is a shame to just have had this one month and all of these problems occurring. We like the ice but can't put up with the disturbing horrible noises it makes. We would be asking for a refund or a replacement. It would be a 5 star because of the clear ice , but because of the horrible awful noises it makes it is a 1. This absolutely ridiculous to have to put up with this inconvenience!!!!

Hunka-Hunka Melting Chunka

I wanted an ice marker with a different design than the usual “bullet” cube style ice maker.

This machine had positive reviews, made cubed ice, and had a different mechanical design than the bullet style makers.*

The machine arrived well packaged and set-up was easy. I was very impressed until I discovered the ice comes out of the ice tray and lands in the storage basket as ONE SOLID HUNK or block of ice. I tried adjusting the settings without any success.

Also wonder why this was designed so that the ICE BASKET SITS IN WATER melting the ice?

I rationalized my purchase. It makes plenty of ice, so I tried to work with the product flaws. I could manually break apart the ice tray sized HUNK in a bowl, and there’s enough ice to avoid the melting ice at the bottom of the basket. I decided while not ideal I would make it work for me.

Today, the HUNKA maker started making loud noises like the little engine that couldn’t. I unplugged, checked everything over, found nothing amiss and plugged back in and the noise continued. Now it seems to have quit working.

*Bullet style ice makers all seem to have the same design flaw that allows water to pass thru opening where ice tray arm connects to the motor (Google it).
