5.0 out of 5 stars The Twelve South AirFly Pro is an excellent accessory

**Twelve South AirFly Pro - Wireless Transmitter/Receiver for AirPods & Wireless Headphones**

As someone who frequently travels and prefers using wireless headphones, I was intrigued by the Twelve South AirFly Pro. This device promises to bridge the gap between traditional in-flight entertainment systems and modern wireless audio devices, making it an attractive option for frequent flyers like myself.

**What I Like:**
- **Versatile Functionality**: The AirFly Pro can function as both a transmitter and a receiver, which is a huge plus. As a transmitter, it allows me to connect my AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones to any device with a headphone jack, such as airplane entertainment systems, gym equipment, or even older stereo systems. As a receiver, it turns wired speakers or car stereos into Bluetooth-compatible devices.
- **Dual Headphone Support**: One of the standout features is the ability to connect two sets of headphones simultaneously. This is perfect for sharing a movie or music with a travel companion on a flight, ensuring both of us can enjoy wireless audio without any hassle.
- **Compact and Portable Design**: The AirFly Pro is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry in a pocket, purse, or carry-on bag. It comes with a handy keychain attachment, so I never have to worry about losing it during my travels.
- **Long Battery Life**: The battery life is impressive, offering up to 16 hours of use on a single charge. This is more than enough for even the longest flights, and the device can be recharged quickly using the included USB-C cable.

**What I Don’t Like:**
- **Initial Pairing Process**: While pairing the AirFly Pro with my headphones was relatively straightforward, it took a couple of attempts to get everything connected properly. Once paired, it worked flawlessly, but the initial setup might require some patience.
- **Audio Lag**: There’s a slight audio lag when watching videos, especially on older in-flight entertainment systems. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it can be noticeable if you’re sensitive to audio sync issues. The lag is minimal but worth mentioning for those who prioritize perfect synchronization.
- **Price**: The AirFly Pro is on the pricier side for an accessory, but given its versatility and functionality, I find it justifiable. However, if you’re only planning to use it occasionally, you might need to weigh the cost against the frequency of use.

**Bottom Line:**
The Twelve South AirFly Pro is an excellent accessory for anyone who wants to use their wireless headphones with devices that don’t support Bluetooth, particularly during air travel. Its versatile functionality, ability to connect two headphones simultaneously, and long battery life make it a must-have for frequent flyers. While the initial pairing process might require some patience and there’s a slight audio lag with video, the overall convenience and performance make it a worthwhile investment for those looking to enjoy wireless audio wherever they go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple device that works as described

Even though more and more planes have added Bluetooth to their seat back entertainment, I have found that the airlines Bluetooth signals are weak and very low volume and not stable. Using this transmitter with the headphone jack fixes all of that (as well as on planes without Bluetooth). Works as advertised. Pairs quickly to my Bose headphones and Sony ear buds. I also used it on my turntable using an RCA to female jack adapter and it worked well there as well, though the volume boost could have been better. Compact and simple device that gets the job done.

This was a great product to use during a long flight. It connected easily to my Bluetooth earbuds. No more tangled wires to worry about. And battery lasted the whole flight.

4.0 out of 5 stars May not work with some gym equipment.

I bought this to use with my wireless Bluetooth earbuds on flights and with the treadmill at the gym I work out at. I have yet to use it on a flight. It does work fine - syncs with my earbuds and sounds fine. However, when I tried to use it with a Precor treadmill at the gym, the treadmill acts like it doesn’t sense it and I cannot raise the volume on the treadmill output to an acceptable level. The treadmill has a default sound level of 30 which I can raise with wired earbuds. However, it will not raise when this device is plugged into the jack. I will keep it to use when flying and maybe there are other uses for it, but it is disappointing that I cannot use it on the treadmill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid little device

I love a thing that does a simple job well. This is a great example: want to use your bluetooth headphones with pretty much anything? Sorted! I like being able to use my AirPods (which being so portable are always with me) with my tv, my little Korg Volca synth and watching movie on a plane - anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the mammoth battery life (25hrs!) means I've never had a problem yet.

First time I bought the wrong thing: the receiver mode is for connecting your Bluetooth device to an output (eg imagine connecting your iPhone to something that only has a 3.5mm input jack) but that's a rare circumstance for me. This little widget has transmitter mode as well, so it transmits a Bluetooth signal from a 3.5mm output for your Bluetooth headphones etc to pick up. This little thing can do both,

The only complaint I have is that the single button interface and tiny led light for pairing is a little baffling: some of the time it 'just works' and others I have to keep pressing it, trying to pair, failing, trying again. It's probably 'user error' but it's not an easy interface to understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Use. Worked for a long Haul Flight

Purchased this on the suggestion of one of the travel blogs I follow. Was a little skeptical that it would work well with my airpods and the seat back adapter on the airplanes. It ended up being super easy to pair the two devices together. It fit perfectly into the adapter on the planes tv screen. The adapter still had charge when my airpods ran out of juice. Would definitely recommend for travels. Small and compact. Could fit in my pocket. User friendly.
