5.0 out of 5 stars Very, Very well made and strong. Install...well, depends.
Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2023
This is our third and final Range Hood (knocking on wood) we have purchased and / or returned. The first two were Awoco RH-C06-30's. The first one worked fine, but the top had roll marks that were extremely obvious, very dirty, scratches and loud. The second, was worse, so we just opted to return them both and purchase this one.

As for the install: First, if this is a new install, then super easy. But as others have said, it is heavy. I did my Awoco by myself, no problem. This one, I had my wife and 15 year old daughter help me with it. It was difficult because I had modified my above stove cabinet from a builder grade 'Crapola' Broan recirculating trash, to the up and out of the roof Awoco Range Hood. Both the Awoco and this one have 6" vents, but let me tell you, 6" is 'debatable'. :)

The 6" vent top in the Awoco was over an inch closer to the wall then this one is. So now lets talk about the templet that they provide from Vesta: NO. I tried it, I really tried it, but it was a no go. It really did nothing but complicate the install. Its best to just have someone hold it up, put a two screws into it and then finish it. Speaking of screws. No way would I use the ones provided in the kit. I used some socket flange heads I had with washers and they worked great.

As for the electrical cord, if you are going to hard wire or not, it's easier to wire it after it is mounted. Just make sure you have the hold drilled properly. I ordered a short 3 prong extension from Amazon for about $5 and passed it thru the top, into the main cavity and wired it then. I also wrapped the wiring nuts with electrical tape and neatly tucked it away.

The lights work great, but why they used halogen instead of led, I will never figure out. But that is the great thing about the unit (and one of my requirements). You can easily swap the light bulbs for what ever you want.

The electronics are fantastic, and the touch screen works very well. I don't think the LED's are to bright or to dim. Thus perfect. Long term? Time will tell.

The 6 levels are fantastic, and honestly, don't see us using over 3, but nice to have that option. Though there is a difference between level 5 and 6, it isn't very much. Is this actually 860 CFM? IDK and don't care. It works for us.

Can I recommend this? Heck yes I can, especially at the sale price of $370 ($70 coupon). If you shop around for range hoods, you will start to realize that many are exactly the same, but with different names and prices. This holds true between this and the Hauslane | Chef Series 30" PS18 unit. But it is far more expensive.

Time will tell and I will update this as time progresses. I 100% so far recommend this Range Hood!

8 Month Update:

Still going strong and just as it was when I mounted it. This unit and its strength has saved my @ss twice now. I telework, and have at times forgotten that I had something on the stove top. Bad move. Even with this unit on 1 or 2, it cleared a grease fire and burning boiled eggs in no time! I have a single story, 2700 square foot home, and it cycled the air very quickly. If it hadn't been for this unit, I have no doubt we would have had smoke damage. THANK YOU and I still HIGHLY recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, terrible instructions
Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2018
We were looking for a better quieter range hood, and the Vesta seemed to fit the bill. It is much quieter, especially with 6 speeds to choose from, and the 2 halogen lights ( with 2 settings ) are good at illuminating the stove top. Overall the unit is well designed and works well. There are a couple of issues with it though. First, the instructions are a joke, very incomplete and inadequate - why the company hasn't rewritten it is a mystery, which they ignored when I emailed them about it. Said they attached a "newer' manual, which they hadn't. No matter, I figured out the horizontal installation myself. But someone less experienced might have trouble figuring it all out. The other issue I had was that the way the hood is designed, the blanking plate for the top round exhaust exit rises too high for a flush installation to the underside of the cabinet above, meaning I had a 1/4" gap between the hood and the cabinet which I had to fill with weatherstripping gasket. These aren't deal breaking things for me, but annoyances never the less. And why don't hood companies have a simpler way of installing these things? There was no template for the 4 mounting screw locations, so we had to prop the heavy unit up in place while trying to find the hard to access screw holes, while also keeping the unit exactly in position was quite challenging, to say the least. A template, or even better maybe would be to have 4 slide brackets that could be mounted ( with a paper template ) in position, to engage 4 receiving brackets on the unit. Then, voila!, installation would be a snap. All this takes a little more engineering and thought, but not much really, and would be a competitive advantage in the market , if companies were thorough enough to engineer the whole process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly heavy duty unit!
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2024
I gave mostly 5 stars for this product because it is the heavy duty well built hood fan I ever used/installed.
My first impression was that the unit was much heavier then the usual hood range fans. After I inspected it, I noticed the stainless steel was much heavier gauge than the "usual" ones and had two fan motor on it. Duct hook up mount is very strong as well. I'm a retired construction contractor so the installation was very easy for me, including the new duct air vent system. I gave 4 star for the installation because the duct hook up could be a bit challenging. How ever, the actual unit hooks up very easy with 4 screws. After installation I tested all 3 fan speeds. At LOW speed suction fair for light cooking. At MEDIUM speed the suction almost doubles and works very well with any cooking forms. At HIGH speed mode suction is very high, more then I ever seen for non-commercial hood fans. Definitely would work well with heavy frying etc...I also liked the fan's size, because it covers all four burners well. I recommend this unit for house hold light to heavy cooking use.
