5.0 out of 5 stars Better than OEM

Best replacement shell on the market. Includes the tools needed to complete the replacement. Shell is of exellent quality and the grips appear to be better than the OEM, which ALWAYS come loose (do better XBox).

5.0 out of 5 stars Brand new controller again
Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2024
I don't write many reviews but this deserves it. My controller was falling apart like so many other people's. I take good care of my stuff but the quality of the elite controllers was horrible. This case restored its former glory. It's solid, has a good feel, and the two halves snap together to leave a very clean seam. If your controller had the rubber coming off or the plastic shell breaking away, this is your answer. You will be pleased, promise!
Oh yeah, this doesn't have the same rubber on the grip to peel off again but it is still very comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars High end case it, bad tools.

Ok so the case is great, it feels high end and identical to the one already on the Elite V2. Soft rubbery plastic, super high end replacement.

Swapping the internals over is not very hard but it is tedious. Just watch a youtube DIY video if you need to but it's very straightforward once you get in. In my second pic you will see a white sticker above the D pad to the right of the left analog there is a screw hiding under that and you'll have to break it or peel it up.

The con to this set are the tools, they are plenty enough to get you going and get the controller disassembled, the problem comes when threading the screws into the new case you need a bit of force and that amount of force strips the bits for every one of them except the biggest size. Had I not already had a good precision set I would now be waiting a day or two for a new set of tools.

Make absolutely sure to get at least a cheap set of precision driver bits with as many as possible or if the exact ones are listed in this listing then just make sure those are included, I cannot remember the sizes. They are all safety torx, 3 different sizes.

Also if you for whatever reason want to not mangle the old controller case get a plastic spudger as this kit comes with a metal one and it destroys the original case. No big deal for me as my case's rubber overmolding was peeling off I wouldn't have reused it ever.

Good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, Great quality!

Excellent quality and includes all tools needed!

1 issue but not with product but Microsoft use of cheap one time screws!

Including a set of the smaller paddle board screws would be ideal! These stripped easily so be careful! Again this is on Microsoft not the seller!

Otherwise would definitely recommend this especially for the rubber grips delaminating from yours!

5.0 out of 5 stars T2 and T6 bits are not very durable
Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2024
I have it 5 stars because my stick looks good as new. But the T2 bit was exceptionally weak. Not sure I’ll be able to do a replacement again. Same goes for the T6
It’s like they are made of tin. You be fine taking the screws out it’s just getting the screws in to the new plastic is where the problems become. I had to use my own kit to make it work. Also you might want some double sided tape to secure the two circular magnets. They are attached with black tape but it doesn’t stay attached to the magnets very well when you remove them from the old shell. They probably should have included a little piece of tape in the kit.
Well that’s it. Overall looks factory

3.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement so far.
Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2024
I had my elite 2 for about 2 and half years, I've already replaced my top she'll with an OEM from microsoft, that alone was 25 and started to peel at the top left. Past year my bottom she'll started separating at the palms near the bottom wasn't an issue, then it actually started to warp causing the rear buttons not to click correctly unless something was on top of the buttons, then the rubber near the triggers started to separate.

Now this kit solved my issues the only issue I have with the kit it doesn't come with replacement magnets, I only had issues taking out the rear paddle magnets. Other then that was a fairly easy transplant, just watch a video on disassembly

*EDIT*
Have to subtract 2 stars. The reasoning for this is because there is no adhesive near the face buttons which causes the X and A buttons to get caught slightly on the top she'll making the button not fully depress like normal. I've tested multiple time pressing where there should be adhesive and there is a slight 1-5mm compression, when this is pressed both buttons depress like normal.

Other then this issue I have no complaints, high quality all around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Affordable solution to M$ nonsense

Like so many, the rubber grips on my *elite* controller peeled off - right outside of its warranty. Amazing that such an expensive, elite item is such trash. Instead of using their sham of a a support service (either sending it in, or getting an expensive box of parts I didn't need) I found this product. Experience taking apart their M$ last generation of controllers for stick drift taught me how easily these things come apart so this was a no brainer. If you've never done it, it seems intimidating working on such expensive electronics but if you can follow a step-by-step video and turn a tiny screw, you can do this. Controller looks and feels brand new. TIP: have a little container handy for all the different, little screws (the box this comes in is perfect) and gently, but firmly, remove and screw back in the tiny screws or they may strip. They are rather cheap and tiny. I had previous tools from other jobs but I did have to use the included no.2 driver, it seemed fine. TIP2: Save the video somewhere so you can rewind and pause. A tablet on your workspace is perfect. PHOTOS Before and After (last two)
