I ordered a size up, because that’s what was available (he’s newly 5 and a slim little guy and usually wears 4t). They are loose around the waste on him, but the drawstring does adjust them small enough and they’re surprisingly not too long or too baggy around his thighs.

We’ll have to wait a couple months for him to wear these to school, which is exactly what we needed them for, since it’s short-weather often in our area through November (it’s July now) and I wanted to stock up on school uniform shorts for the year. There’s plenty of room for him to grow into, and I am certain they’ll still fit next summer.

I like the lightweight quality of the shorts, it’s so hot in our area at times year-round that heavier uniform shorts/pants/cargo-anything are too heavy. These are lightweight joggers, but will work great as simple uniform pants. I like the black color because he gets super messy with all things, and I’ve decided never to buy a light pair of khakis for him ever again.

I’ve read the other reviews that say they run too large, I took a measuring tape to them and they seem to be right-on. They’re big around the waste on my guy, because I purposefully ordered up a size, but with the drawstring he was still able to play actively in them around the house and yard without them slipping down.

Not true to size/age at all. My son is slim 9 year old and this is way over sized. I would have to order 2 sizes down. Dissapointed, now I have to return and reorder a new size.

I got the size 10-11 for my son, and they are alot bigger than what I would normally see for that size about 15 and a half inches across the waist. I would probably go down a size maybe two. the quality is great though they feel nice I just wish they fit.

What I like most about these kids shorts are the cotton content, they have a nice natural look to the fabric. The waist band has some stretch to it and is paired with a wide flat drawstring. There is a faux fly on front, suggested by the outline of the stitching. These do have pockets, a pair of side pockets and a pair of back pockets. We ordered size 5-6, and comparing these to the fit of other garments, I would say that these are true to size. These are machine wash and dryable. They only get 4 stars from me though because there are a lot of hanging threads, and slight haste in the stitching in general (not irregular or anything, just hasty construction).

I’m really happy with these shorts, great value for a three pack. My kid wear them to school, to play basketball, and go swimming in the local lake, and they’ve held up well in all the wear and tear. They’re comfortable, breathable, and look nice, and they also dry quickly.
