5.0 out of 5 stars I like it so far. Seems well worth the price if it holds up!

I've tried streaming/playing Switch on my PC screen before and it hasn't been bad, but there was always input lag trying to watch the monitor and push buttons based on that rather than the screen. This thing acts like a dock which tells the switch to use the attached screen as primary, like your TV or OBS. With that, it seems the input lag is either negligable or gone. I do like this a lot :D

I did get a little hung up at first because of this though - the switch doesn't recognize inputs from the joycons connected to it if it's in "TV mode" like this. Worth noting I think.

It will charge the switch through this device. I did use the original switch charger cable and it charged from dead to full in under a couple hours, not any faster or slower than normal.

Now all I need is my own joycons or wireless pro controller and I might be able to play my switch again! (My kids have taken ownership of it and... I hate cleaning it first any time I want to play >_>).

Ah! I found my USB switch controller - works great via the standard USB slot on this device :D

The point of the ms2130 is to have 1080p@60 YUY2, there are many other capture cards on the market with this. While this could very well support it, I found that the video output is USB 2.0, not only does the cable it come with use USB 2.0 output, but even if I use a USB 3.0 cable, the actual output port on the device itself is USB 2.0, so I can't get a better output. In OBS and ffmpeg, the highest option is 1080p@50 MJPEG, this is not acceptable, if you want YUY2, you have to use 720p.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not plug and play, instructions not the best.
Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2023
This was not compatible with my laptop, docking station, or portable monitor. I was for sure the docking station would at least work since it’s office grade. Nothing. Followed the confusing instructions with multiple different cables. Didn’t work for me. Bummer.

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent mini-dock, capture is detected as a camera capped at 30fps, Steam Deck Compatible
Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2022
This little minidock does the job. It connects to your Switch and your TV, outputs a fine video signal as a regular dock and all there is as expected.

When you connect the included USB C to USB A cable to your PC, nothing happens. This because the device is picked up by Windows as a generic USB camera named Hagibis. There are basically zero settings you can change on it, you can adjust color balance in the windows settings and that's quite literally it.

The video output from the switch was 1080p30, it doesn't support 60fps despite supporting up to 4k resolutions supposedly. It takes decent quality video and screenshots though, however good a quality your capture software can as it seems to be a raw feed of video as a camera would offer.

It also worked on my Steam Deck without any issue. Plugging the Steam Deck's power cable into it then its USB C into the steam deck resulted in the Deck casting its image to the TV and turning its own display off. The audio initially was coming through the Steam Deck itself and I had to manually set the output device to External Device but from there it was fine, this was probably because I didn't have audio set to Automatic. Video quality was again fine on the TV but I got the same mild input lag and 30fps limitation on the capture side. The Deck didn't complain about the power coming from the unit being too little to play and charge as it does with weak chargers, and the dock didn't get any warmer than it did with the Switch.

There's around 50-100ms of input delay added on the PC preview screen, at least in the windows camera viewer. I brought it up as a camera in Discord and experienced the same delay. OBS might be better but I don't have it installed currently and I doubt it would differ from anything else. It's playable but not ideal, you're definitely better suited playing via the HDMI and only using that USB out for recording.

The unit get pretty warm, not horribly so in the time I've had with it and only while using the video capture feature but I could see it overheating on a hot day or after a long enough session. It got very slightly warm without USB video capture active.

I would say this is a pretty decent on-the-go Switch dock though, it performs that function really well, and the capture capabilities are a very cool bonus, I just find myself wishing it could output 60fps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine. Great entry level. Much less expensive than the name brand I bought last year.

I got this to record playthroughs from my Switch using my PC. It worked fine and was a fraction of the cost of the name brand card I bought last year to do the same thing. I'm not sure if it produces the same quality or not though.

The card came with instructions that were helpfulish, but not the greatest. Hookup instructions were clear and had diagrams. Using it took more effort. Sometimes you have to fill in the gaps. The instructions are targeted to users who have downloaded an open source broadcasting software. Once downloaded they do tell you which options to select. Following the steps got me hooked up and recording.

I have no complaints. This is a great price for a card to get started learning and doing recordings or streams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent mini switch dock/capture card
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2022
I haven't gotten a chance to use the video capture portion of it but it works really well as a miniature travel dock for the switch. It's colorful and marches my joycons and feels pretty good quality. The picture is no different than a regular switch dock. If you need a new one or just want an easier one to travel with, I highly recommend this option
