I have formerly owned a few specialty needles for repairing camping equipment. This kit looked well thought out. I love that it has its own case rather than a plastic bag, and that it comes with its own stash of hand done waxed thread for projects.
My first project when this arrived was to fix a spot if carpet where the loop has been pulled out. This is easily done with a curved needle.
Due to the color contrast and small nature of this project I used hand quilting thread rather than the thicker thread included in the kit which will be great for leather or book binding projects.
It is still visible but will prevent further damage, and it is not a great idea to clip carpet loops unless you want bald spots in your carpet.
The only way most people will notice this is if they take a face plant to my carpet, in which case they aren't going to be thinking about the carpet anyway.
Didn't know when I ordered this it would have a Ukraine connection, but nice to support businesses that value repair instead of our current throwaway culture. You can learn how to fix a lot of things now online, and if you have to throw something away or fix it, this is an inexpensive way to try to make items last longer and keep them out of the landfill.
The needles are smooth and sharp, and solid. The seam ripper often tells me if they cheaped out on part of the kit, and this one is pretty nice so I was pleased.
Will be using this kit for many things coming up like upholstery and other projects.
