    I bought this bass to replace a Warwick 5 string that I had to part with last year. I think I actually like it better. You can't beat the bass to buck ratio. Even the setup was good right out of the box. The Phat EQ allows you to fit just about any style, tonewise... I'm very pleased with my purchase.

    So happy I bought this bass. Has a nice deep sound and the quality I expect from a company like Ibanez. I was able to get this discounted because of a "large cosmetic defect", but I must be blind because it looks as good as it sounds. This was definitely one of the better buys I've made.

    As another reviewer wrote, this guitar should've never left the factory like this... Out of the box, it was barely strung, the bridge was too low, and the neck needed to be adjusted. The top two strings were literally unplayable.

    After raising the bridge (significantly) and tuning it, it's playable and sounds thick as hell. The neck still needs an adjustment I'm not confident in doing myself, so I'll need to take it to a professional tech.

    Other than that, it's a beautiful instrument and for an entry level 5 string, it sounds incredible for the price. Just be prepared for a lot of adjustments or a trip to your local guitar tech.

    The quality one can get with cheap guitars these days is pretty amazing. I needed a bass guitar to record an album with, nothing exquisite, just needed it to hold down the low-end frequencies. This worked great. There is indeed a reason to buy more expensive guitars, for the comfort and quality of playing, but this bass will do the job and I actually like the look of it a lot, surprisingly. I normally hate the color brown but it seems appropriate in this case. If you're looking for a 5-string bass to try, try this one. If you're a beginner especially, you won't be disappointed.
