Over the last 7 plus decades I have had the honor and pleasure of being both a student and instructor in numerous martial arts, warrior fitness, and breathing systems, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Combatives, Krav Maga, tactical aerobics, military/SEAL fitness routines, Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, and various meditation breathing routines), but I am always seeing to learn more on the above subjects.

Even though I have read numerous books on breathing techniques and methods over the last few years, and when I saw this 221-page soft cover book (Exhale: 40 breathwork exercises to help you find calm, supercharge your health, and perform at your best by Richie Bostock) on Amazon I immediately decided to purchase it.

First off, I found this to be one of the very best books on various breathing techniques I have read in a while. I loved how the author presented the material and I learned many things I was unaware of in my own breathing practices and the techniques I teach to my students. In fact, I have now included some of the breathing exercises I learned in this book in my own classes.

This fantastic book is organized into five detailed parts. The introductory part emphasizes that by changing the way you breathe, will change your life. Part one (Born to breathe) provides a little background of the importance of breathwork. Part two gives an overview of the kind of breather you are. Part three covers the 21-day breathe right program. Part four focuses on your daily breathwork tool kit. The final part gives you “a world of breathing techniques” for a wide variety of health/fitness and performance issues.

In conclusion, this book is a keeper. If you want to own just one book on breathing techniques, this is one you should consider for your personal health and fitness library. I loved it.
