About this item
When duty and desire clash, fated mates are caught in the middle.
Cash's loyalty to his pack is unwavering. He'd sacrifice anything to protect his packmates. Do anything to keep them safe. Put their needs above his own...always.
It is the life he was born for, and the one he's worked years to achieve. As an Enforcer, he swore an oath to his alpha: pack before self.
Not once has he regretted his choices.
Until an injured eagle shifter lands in his lap, and his protective instincts get torn in two.
He knows he can't risk the safety of his pack...no matter what his panther demands. Once the little bird is all healed up, Cash will have to send him on his way.
For the good of his pack.
But dark, frightened eyes and a sweet smile call to his cat in a hungry, possessive way and challenge everything he's ever thought he knew.
For the first time in his life, he might just have to put himself first.
Tempest is the first book in the Silver Oak Pack series, set within the Kincaid Pack Universe but able to be listened to and enjoyed completely on its own. It features an overly protective panther trapped by his own responsibility-driven morals, an eagle who can't remember much but knows the surly cat makes him feel spine-tingling safe, magical tattoos, skinny dipping, a delicious age-gap, gobs of scenting, and a swoon-worthy happily ever after.

The Kincaid pack is one of my favorite series and I was so excited we weren’t saying goodbye after book 6.
Kiki has a great talent for introducing characters so intriguing, you need their stories. I am particularly interested in Robbie, Saint, Finlay, and Liam.
I can’t wait for the audiobook and for the next installment.
As for this book's couple, Cash and Ore were great together and they had a ton of chemistry even though Cash tried to resist it at first. The Silver Oak pack is an isolationist pack that only allows cat shifters to join and even though they're helping bird shifter Ore recover from his amnesia, Cash assumes Ore will be forced to leave once his memories come back. Of course, Cash can't hold out for long against the cuteness and sunshine that was Ore and I liked seeing Cash soften a little bit as the book went on. As for Ore, he was a delightful MC with a big heart and a sweet nature. They were very cute together and once things started getting physical it was very spicy. Kiki Clark always delivers on the spice with plenty of possessive but tender moments.
That said, it was definitely obvious that this was somewhat of a bridge from the previous books in the universe into this one, with Cash and Ore’s story being the vehicle to introduce new characters and a post-council world. The Kinkaids and Amatos featured heavily, showing how the Silver Lake pack connected to the characters and the universe we already knew. The story also very much set up the development of the Silver Lake pack and a whole new set of character. Particularly, I can’t wait to read more about Finley, Robbie, and Saint; and to find out more about the mysterious people who held Ore prisoner and the other vampires.
I am looking forward to some of the future books in this series but I almost feel like you need to have recently read the other books by this author that are within the same world for most of it to make sense. I’ve read all the books but sometimes I felt really lost.

It's no news that I love all of Kiki's stories. She creates characters that we fall in love with incredibly fast. Both the main and side ones touch our hearts.
In this story, the main couple is Cash and Ore, who meet when the latter, who is seriously ill and has lost his memory, enters the pack territory without permission,. Cash takes responsibility for him, realizes that he is his soul mate and nothing can stop them from having their happily ever after.
Both characters are beautiful. Ore, with her sweetness, will bring out Cash's cute side. I loved the nicknames!
By the end of the book we already have the main conflict to be resolved throughout the saga and I can assure you that I am intrigued! The three packs working together will be a treat to read.
