5.0 out of 5 stars Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012
Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2012
The Original Need For Speed Most Wanted that came out in 2005 was one of my favorite PS2 games. When I saw that they were making a new version for the Vita (which was in need of a good racing game) I knew that I had to get it. It shares little with its predecessor but it is still very fun. My favorite part of the original was free roaming and that mode is still very much intact.

The game revolves around the "Most Wanted Racers", you must take your vehicle and beat them in a race. After defeating them you take them out to acquire their cars. Some of the races are fairly difficult and others are very easy. I had a hard time completing the first Most Wanted race using the ZR1. After that I beat more than half of them with the GTR on my first or second attempt.

Each of the cars have 5 races ranging in difficulty. You will find that a lot of the races are the same, you just use a different car when doing them. Sometimes you are the Mclaren that races the Bugatti, Aventador, and Huayra. Other times you are the Bugatti racing the MP4-12C, Aventador, and Huayra. Some races like "Needle Point" in the Veyron I found quite challenging and frustrating. The cops can get annoying. Especially when a SUV rams you in the begining of a speed run.

The graphics are pretty impressive especially considering that the game is open world. Next to Asphalt there is no comparison, Most Wanted wins hands down. Next to the console version however there are noticable differences. For example the spoiler on the Veyron doesn't move on the vita. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between an opponent and traffic car. Instead of ramming your opponent you end up smashing a traffic car. Sometimes a median will seen to pop up. All in all however the graphics are very good and one of the games strong points.

The game has loads of exotic cars and high end sports cars. You will find yourself in lamborghinis and cars like that. The sensation of building up is gone however you can drive an Audi R8 GT from day one. This may be an issue for some people.

I have not played too much multiplayer but what I played was fun. There are all sorts of unique races online. Like who can get to the top of the building fron the loop structure first. Or who can jump off of the side of a cliff the most times. For the most part it runs smoothly but at times it will lag a little, where you think you are going to smash your opponent but he vanishes and is far ahead of you.

Overall this game is one of my favorite Vita games. It is a great game to just pick up and drive around in. I would reccommend it to anyone who enjoys racing games and it looking for a good open world vita game. The vacancy of a good racer on the Vita has been filled with this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars from a non need for speed fan

Wow! I gotta say, Ive owned plenty of need for speed games since the PS1 days. But Ive never been a huge fan.

To be honest, the best driving game I ever played to date has been Blur because of the speed, challenges, and all the other non driving elements it added to the experience (shunting someone into oblivion at top speed to take 1st place!! LOVE IT)

This game offers the same excitement! So many challenges! Super fast speeds! Racing! Evading Police! Open world!

EA did a great job with this game.

The only thing to mention is it is harder to see some things on the small vita screen (upcoming traffic, OSD, etc..)

The graphics arent as polished as the PS3 version either, but they did a great job of not leaving anything out of this version.

Also, the game is not cross save. So your game is independent from the PS3 version if you own that as well. No pick up and play where you left off. Kinda sucks since they packed everything in the vita model to make the game virtually the same as the ps3 version aside from the graphics.

I highly recommend this game!

I either love or hate racing games. There isn't much greay area for me and this game I love.
The controls are tight, the graphics are well done and the gameplay is a blast.
Is has RPGish elements in that you are fighting your way up the racing ranks to become the "Most Wanted" racer.
You outrun police, find tons of new race cars and race in events in an open world to get mods for your car.
The events difficulty is just right for me. You need to have a good race to win, but it's not frustrating.
One of the really neat parts of the game is the race intros for the "Most Wanted" races and the other events. Each one has a totally different art style and concept used to introduce the race. It's hard to explain but very cool to watch.
Also restarting a race in the middle or after a race is quick and painless.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Loud Powerful Sports Cars "
Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2014
I can't even speak right now. I can't brag enough on this game. I was so blown away of how the reflection of the sun and rich detailed visuals seem to pop right out of the screen at you. Roar pass the cops going 160MPH in loud powerful sports cars. Give them a run for their money, and lead them into traps, then leave them 1 mile behind. Go into a dark alley cut off the engine and lights while the back tires smoke, and watch the cops blow right pass you like fools as you hide in the shadows letting your heat level cool down. Seconds latter the heat meter lowers then you've evaded the cops. The only thing left to say is just buy the game. It's fun and very addicting.

great game. if you are a fan of burnout paradise city you will love this game. Crietion has done it again. They have made a game that free range. you can drive anywhere, go anywhere. you also get to crash through fences, drive up ramps and over passes to bust out the billboards, plus you get chased by the cops. I love how the game shows you your fastest times through speed zones, your longest air jump for billboards and how long you spend in each car. the best part is that you drive around and find even cooler cars to drive, just get out of the old crashed up car and into say a new corvette. this game has it all,..........why are you still reading buy this already!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Release for Vita
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2013
I love this game on the Vita! It is the full console version. While the graphics have taken a slight hit it is by no means a flaw with the game. It is great if you want a free play racing game that you can spend as much or as little time in as you want. The open world and ease of car switching make it perfect for just playing for 15 minutes. On the other side the ladder of opponents to tackle gives you a challenging goal to work towards that you can spend hours on. I highly recommend this game to all Vita owners who enjoy a racing game!
