About this item

【Automatic, Rechargeable, and Truly Portable】Doxie Q2 is the automatic document scanner reinvented for true mobility to let you scan anywhere — no computer required — with a rechargeable battery, collapsible automatic document feeder, included memory, integrated Wi-Fi, and included Mac, PC, and iOS apps. Doxie's small size makes it easy to tuck it in your bag or a drawer when you're done scanning.
【Always Simple】Engineered for ultimate simplicity, Doxie just works — no special drivers needed — simply flip Doxie open, insert your paper, and hit scan. Doxie's automatic paper feeder scans stacks of up to 5 full-color pages at once at up to 600 dpi. Or, use Doxie's direct feed slot to scan all your photos, receipts, cards, and fragile items.
【Amazing Software and OCR】Doxie makes it easy (and fun!) to go paperless. Doxie's included Mac and PC apps let you sync scans via USB or Wi-Fi to your desktop to organize and create searchable multi-page PDFs with award-winning ABBYY OCR technology. Save scans to your desktop, local apps, or your favorite cloud services — like Dropbox, Evernote, OneNote, and iCloud Drive. Or, sync scans to your iPhone or iPad with Doxie's iOS app to save and share your scans wherever you are.
【Lightweight and Compact】Doxie's always ready and never in your way. To keep Doxie small and portable, Doxie is a simplex scanner that makes scanning double-sided documents easy with Doxie's one-click Interleave feature — automatically merge two stacks into a single, stapled stack, creating a perfectly ordered PDF in a click.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good at what it does, but description stretches the truth
Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2022
Does exactly what it says it'll do for the most part, and the quality for the size of the device is great―much better than Brother and Epson counterparts.
However, the description describes features that the standalone device does not have, and that you need the PC/Mac software for:
- It lacks the "staple" feature that allows you to convert single sided scans or multi-page PDFs to duplex or to group multiple images/PDFs into a single PDF.
- It does not scan to PNG like the advertisement says, the desktop app allows you to CONVERT to PNG when transferring from the device to your PC/Mac.
I also ran into the problem where it seems the Webhook feature (confirmed by support to not be an officially released feature at this time) does not appear to support modern Let's Encrypt certificates, so it will not work unless you use HTTP or a certificate with different root CAs.
