I absolutely loved Into the Tide by Laura Pavlov; it is an incredible best friend’s little sister love story. It is the first book in her Cottonwood Cove series. Into the Tide is the first book that I read by Laura Pavlov, but it will not be the last, she is an amazing storyteller. It was impossible to put Into the Tide down and I loved every moment on every page. It filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. My favorite part of the book is how Laura Pavlov incorporates the picture on the cover into the love story. Into the Tide is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Into the Tide is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Laura Pavlov did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Laura Pavlov managed to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Into the Tide is the story of Hugh Reynolds, manager of Reynolds’ Bar and Grill, Burgers and Brews, and Garrity’s and his best friend, Travis’s little sister, Lila James, recent college graduate. Lila returns home to Cottonwood Cove for the summer following her graduation from Northwestern University to help Hugh with the business side of Reynolds’ Bar and Grill, before returning to Chicago in September to start a job at True Solutions. Lila’s main reason for coming home was to get her father into rehab for his alcohol and drug abuse. Travis does not want Lila in Cottonwood Cove long term and does not want her to have anything to do with their father. I love the Disney nicknames that they give one another. Lila moves into Hugh’s extra bedroom following an incident involving her father. I love the chemistry between Lila and Hugh. Conversation between Lila and Hugh flows so easily, I love that both Lila and Hugh share secrets with one another that they have not shared with anyone before. As Lila and Hugh spend time working together and crossing off items in her Snow (Hugh’s nickname for Lila) Day notebook, things change between them. Hugh is not interested in a relationship with Lila because of his friendship with Travis and keeps their relationship a secret. Neither one is willing to admit their true feelings for each other knowing that Lila will be heading to Chicago at the end of summer. Conversation between Lila and Hugh flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Hugh constantly flirts with Lila. Some conversations between Lila and Hugh are truly heartbreaking, make sure you have your Kleenex nearby. I love everything that Hugh does for Lila to help her cross off items in her Snow Day notebook. I love the last item on the list that Lila added without showing Hugh. A heart-breaking surprise plot twist occurs, which changes things between them. I love all the changes that Hugh is willing to make in his life to have a life and a future with Lila, wherever that may be. Travis’s reaction to Hugh telling him about his relationship with Lila is priceless. I love the heart-to-heart conversation that Lila has with Hugh’s mother, Alana, who is a therapist. I love the Reynolds family text thread and the texts between Hugh and Lila. I loved that Into the Tide is more than just a romance, there are issues that both Lila and Hugh are facing that need to be resolved. I love how the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I love how Hugh creates a list of his own and takes Lila’s notebook with him so she can check off the last item she added. I love the ending of their love story. My favorite part is the epilogue and how it goes above a happily ever after with Hugh’s proposal and the significance of the location. I love how the epilogue hints at whose love story is next in the series. My favorite part was the bonus scene download that details the treasure hunt that Hugh creates for Lila and the location that the last clue leads Lila. Into the Tide is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists that I have come to love and expect in a love story and was not disappointed with Laura Pavlov’s delivery of those items. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Into the Tide, the characters feel like family and friends, especially Lila’s relationship with her friends Del, Ria and Sloane. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Reynolds siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love the descriptions of the Cottonwood Cove location. I loved all the characters in Into the Tide, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Into the Tide, who does not love a best friend’s little sister love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
