5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected

I expected these to be cheezy and short lived. I purchased them in the fall. They have kept wood dry. Wood is reasonably easy to access though Velcro flaps. They are exposed to heavy winds, including recent storms with 65+ mph winds. As you can see in the photo, the heavy wind is pushing the cover in on an almost empty wood rack. There is a strap at the bottom middle that keeps the cover secure. I could have done a better job tightening it up after the last wood grab, but it’s 9 degrees F out. I have only had them for half a year, but there are no tears or other concerns. I recommend these.

Husband is a firewood junkie. We have two small racks and two large firewood racks on our deck. These covers are the best! Waterproof, easy to open and close - made from excellent heavy duty plastic lined canvas - very strong. Hooks on the bottom legs of the firewood rack and has easy access to the wood. Has everything we need.

I got this to replace the cover that came with a firewood rack purchased a few years ago on amazon. This cover is far less durable than the original cover. The original cover that came with the rack was more of an army type canvas. This one I more like the type of plastic covers that come with grills. I guess it's inexpensive enough that I don't mind so much, but yeah. Looking forward to replacing sooner rather than later. If we get a year out of this cover then I guess it'll be better than nothing. Why is everything build to NOT LAST? I would pay more if I could find a more durable cover.

I got this along with the KINGSO 8ft wood fire rack.
It has the company brand on the front so you know which is the side.... no instructions really but it's pretty simple.
I like that the two sides have clips so you can wrap them around the bottom of the rack... So if a gust of wind gets under the cover it doesn't just lift off and fly away.
.
IT IS WATERPROOF!
.
I'm not quite sure why there's a dude that said it was not???
We had torrential rain and sever weather here in Minnesota last night (5-24-2021) and the next morning I went out to check if there were "puddles" of water as that guy said he had.
Nope..
The wood was dry as the day before the rains came.
.
My only guess would be that his wood was already damp and it was condensating maybe???
I have half a cord of well seasoned wood under the tarp and it's staying dry.
There are two vents near the top of the cover on each side. This is to help keep the humidity out of the wood and to keep air circulating.
.
Honestly, as long as you have the wood off the ground a few inches, even if it gets some rain on it, the wood will be fine. Properly seasoned wood won't just suck up a night of rain. It'll maybe get damp and then the heat of the next day will evaporate that water just fine off the bark or outer portion of the wood fiber.
.
Either way, I still like having the wood covered. We'll see if the critters keep away or if they like the extra cover protection lol.

So I was skeptical abouts getting this cover for several reasons. 1. There are so many other similar looking covers on Amazon and there is no way of knowing which ones are just poorly made knockoffs. 2. There was no way of knowing whether the reviews were legitimate or not. Some of the pictures of the covers post online were not really that flattering. 3. I don't know if I am like most people, but my wood is not always exactly less than 24" and I often overstack the racks. So when it comes to covering them, the previous covers that I purchased either ripped from the longer pieces of wood, or just simply would not fit.

In the photos, you'll see 3 racks with a different cover than this one, by Landmann. Their cover is a thicker material, but as is clearly visible in the photo, the cover doesn't fit the width with longer pieces of wood and it is not long enough to cover the full height of the rack. Then, you'll see this cover. It's large enough to cover everything.

I am glad I gave these a shot. I already ordered 4, and I just reordered another 4, 1 for another wood rack and 3 to replace the Landmann covers.

If over the winter the material begins to rip or degrade, I'll update this post; however, as of now they are as good as advertised.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay but fades easily
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024
I purchased 7 months ago. Overall, no rips or anything. But it’s not longer black. The sun started to fade it early on and it is now closer to a gray color than black. I don’t care all that much as it’s ultimately doing what it’s supposed to. Just not sure what the advertised UV resistant actually means bit hopefully it keeps it from deteriorating and ripping sooner than it should.

I 5ook my old one off and threw it away as this let's you access the wood from multiple access points instead of having to take it off. Also has fastening clips on the bottom to hold it in place.
