So this is my review about flea tick squirts for my dog. I am bothering to write a review because I actually like these a lot. Not only are they a good value but what makes them a good value is two things. One is that they work. I don't know how well they work on a flea infested animal because I don't let my pets get to that point. I don't think my dog even had fleas when I first tried this on her. The more I talk the more I sound like a bad pet owner and I am not. My dog used to take the pill for fleas and ticks and those are pretty expensive. So I thought I would give these a try after reading some reviews. Fortunately those reviews were true. My dog doesn't have any problem with fleas and it's been now about 4 months of using the product. The other thing I like about this product more than any similar that I've ever tried even the ones you pay a lot for at the vet which I have used as well is that it does not smell at all. I didn't smell anything and no I didn't have COVID. I could perhaps notice a slight but pleasant scent but seriously no real smell at all. And to me that is a huge win in addition to no bugs because I don't want my pet going around with some stinky stuff on her that makes her miserable and makes me not want to pet her either. So it's much much more of a pleasant experience to put these on my dog and be done with it because it's not stinky the dog doesn't run around like freaked out because you squirted it. I also got these for my cat and have basically the same result other than the fact that cats don't like anything squirted on them so there's that but there's no smell with the cat squirts either and the cat doesn't have fleas so yay!

These drops are cheap, my cats tolerate the drops way better than other brands, and my house and my cats have not had any fleas or been infested with fleas while using the drops. My cats are indoor/outdoor.
These drops work the best if you are starting from a place of no fleas on your cat or in your home. Otherwise, additional flea treatments for your home and a fast acting one dose flea treatment, etc. for your cat may be needed as well.
My cats get flea meds year round with no skipped doses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not quite as effective as time goes on.

Every flea treatment is hit or miss with cats, and people complain about the weirdest things, as if these spot on treatments are supposed to radiate some noxious "force" that keeps fleas away.

Yes, you're going to see more scratching on the cat after putting this on it. The poison irritates and excites the fleas until they die. This also means 1) you MIGHT see a stronger presence of fleas because they're not expertly hiding deep in the fur or under the armpits or where they usually aren't seen at all, given that their systems are out of whack, and 2) the fleas become more aggressive and bite more, leading to more irritation on the pet.

Not only that, but some felines are just flat out allergic to this stuff, and so you take a risk when you go buy things yourself instead of going to a vet.

Finally, yes, this product may stop working--fleas build immunity to things just as any other living creature builds immunity to things. Life will always find a way, and this directly targets critical life stages of the flea. When fleas may lay QUITE a lot of eggs in its lifetime, even at 0.01% survival rate, that's more than enough for millions of fleas in a few weeks. You need to switch up your flea medication from time to time. There's a reason doctors will switch up your antibiotics if you have to take a bunch of those.

Anyway, this stuff is pretty effective, but it loses 1 star because I'm not convinced yet that this actually fully penetrates the fatty layer in the cat and stays active for a whole month. It seems like after 2 weeks to 18 days or so, it's done. I know this because I've removed fleas at various days with a comb off my cat to see how effective these things tend to be over time. Within the first 2 weeks, all fleas I caught were just dead when I went go check on them later after getting them together. After 3 weeks (21 days), though, every flea was still perfectly fine.

Also, my cat gets pretty itchy from irritation after I put it on her. HOWEVER, I ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS MY CAT'S OWN PERSONAL SENSITIVITY TO IT. She's sensitive to ALL of the spot treatments because it's literally "the skin is absorbing and storing poison."

I personally use this flea treatment program to kill fleas:

1) Put on spot treatment
2) Pop in a Capstar the same day, same time as spot treatment
3) Spread food grade diatomaceous earth around the house. Sprinkle some so you get blotches all over the floor, then sweep it all in
4) Spray down the baseboards with a house spray (about 3-4 bottles total to really saturate the base boards)
5) Vacuum every 3 days, laundry same time (whatever I wear and whatever the cats have gotten on)
6) Spray sofa and cat sleeping areas every 5 days

Takes 3 weeks of aggressive work, but they'll be gone before the month is over. I live in the Deep South in a poorly sealed trailer with a giant tree and a lake nearby; you bet I'm getting fleas every single spring and summer.

This product is terrific. I am delighted by its long-lasting effect. It not only kills flea eggs and larvae but also interrupts the flea cycle, which is a great feature. It even gets rid of chewing lice, which can be a big problem. The overall performance of this product is impressive. I highly recommend it for your pets.

This product has been exactly what I was looking for. It's incredibly easy to use, which is a definite plus. It's great to have a hassle-free solution for flea and tick prevention. The waterproof topical application and fast-acting formula are other good points. It's perfect for my cat who's over 1.5 lbs. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not working
Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2024
My aunt is the one that referred this to me and I want to say I am very disappointed in this product. I have a mini dachshund and I place 1/2 of the treatment on the tail area of my pet and the other 1/2 at the back of his neck. This product is not working for him at all. He has more fleas around his testicles then anywhere else on his body. I sit here and pick them off of him. Now I am not saying he is covered in fleas, he wasn't when I started the treatment, but he does not have any less fleas either. He is white so the fleas are very easy to see. The area where he has the fleas now is the same area he had them when I started the treatment. I told my husband that we will give him a bath in Dawn soap and I will put another treatment on him (before the month is up) and give it another chance. If it doesn't work, then I will give the remaining 4 treatment to my aunt. I am not going to waste my hard earned money on something that does not work. I am willing to spend more money on something that will work to keep my furbaby from biting and scratching all day long.
