I wish I had found this thing years ago. So much easier and more efficient than an electronic stud finder and excels in some areas where regular stud finders struggle. The Kreg is pretty nice to use for walls...sweep it across the drywall until the magnet finds a screw, turn on the laser, level the bubble and boom, you're in business. Assuming your stud is straight, the laser marks the entire wall for you.

Unfortunately, the laser/level won't work on the ceiling...because gravity! It'll still find the screws for you though and that helps locate the rafter/joist/etc in the immediate vicinity of the stud finder.

Buy it, you won't regret it. This is the first thing I grab now when I need to find a stud.

This stud finder is easy and fun to use. The magnets find the nails in the wall and the tool hangs on the wall! It has a level built-in and a laser light to line up vertically. It is worth the money and works really well.

Makes an awesome laser cat toy! (But for real, it sticks to the nails in your studs and stays on well and points the laser straight so you can mark the wall; all good).

Incredible! 1) find the screw head with the strong magnet 2) plumb it with the bubble level that’s integrated 3) turn on the laser to project up the stud on the wall. So easy and it works!!

This only works as a magnet and catches the nails in the beam. I may return as it isn’t fully accurate if the only way it can spot the beam is magneticly.

Love this stud finder. I also bought the smaller more popular stud buddy but returned it immediately because this one is all you need for once in a while homeowner tasks. My dad also ordered one.
