I love this light! You just plug it in and it goes. The remote is great for selecting specific colors or different programs. It can cycle through colors, be a steady color or strobe. So fun! Lights are nice and bright. Looking forward to using this at our next bday party

4.0 out of 5 stars An entry level RGB LED Par Light with DMX
Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2024
The media could not be loaded.
As a semi professional DJ and Karaoke Host for over 2 decades, it's safe to say that I have a bit of experience with mobile lighting setups.
Way back when I was first starting out, I actually had pretty minimal sound system, and I had no lighting effects whatsoever.
As I began to do more and more gigs, I reinvested a significant portion (almost all) of my performance fees into upgrading my sound equipment and adding in some entry level lighting effects.
Over time, my ability to do bigger venues with the appropriate sound and lighting gear just got better and better. Nowadays I only add to my gear if something breaks, or I find something that I think would be a significant improvement on my existing setup.

The point of telling you all of that is to help you to understand what I mean when I say that this is what I would consider to be an entry level DMX lighting unit.

And let's be honest with ourselves here, it's priced accordingly.

Any reviewer that expects true professional level performance from a sub $30 piece of LED lighting gear is either being intentionally pretentious or is woefully misguided in their expectations.

Even with 36 LED bulbs working together, this Iverens 36 LED RGB Par Light with DMX Control is pulling less than 10 watts. And that's functionally equivalent to about ONE 100 watt incandescent bulb.

If you think you are going to do a big stage show with a 100 watt bulb, you really do need to reevaluate your expectations.

But here's the thing:
This light isn't supposed to be used in a stand alone configuration. A *very* minimal configuration would be at least 4 of these working together, along with other additonal effect lighting.
And 8 would be a better idea, even for a beginner.

But what this light will do is this:
It can be programmed using a DMX controller.
It can be configured for single color operation, auto changing patterns, sound activation, plus fade and strobe effects.
It can also be programmed using the LED screen/menu on the housing, and it includes a remote control which you can use intead of the manual pushbutton operation.

Be honest now, that's a pretty decent set of features for a 36 LED RGB Par Light in this price range.

So use it for a small family gathering, use it for a small party with friends, or use it because you just want some lighting effects when you are kicked back and enjoying your playlist.

Just don't expect to use it if you're going to be the opening act at your local concert ampitheater and you'll be just fine.

As for me, when I get the time, I'll probably just sync it with my other, bigger, more powerful strobe heads, and add a little more punch to the results I get when I flip the STROBE switch on my lighting controller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light Up Your Events with a Splash of Color
Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2024
Years of working as a senior stage electrician, I've come to appreciate the nuances of what makes a good lighting setup. This par can LED light caught my attention. I added it to my collection. It's a lightweight fixture, which is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it's easy to handle and set up, but on the other, it's not built to withstand the rigorous life of touring with a road crew.

The DMX function operates smoothly, aligning with my expectations. However, diving into the instructions is necessary since one function ties in with another. This is a bit of a learning curve, but you will be impressed once you get the hang of it.

If you want total positive control over this par, consider investing in a DMX controller for total control if you do not have one. There are many controllers in all price ranges – get the one you need.

The light output is more than satisfactory for its size, and it does an excellent job at mixing colors, creating a vibrant atmosphere for any event. The remote control is a handy addition, though it's worth noting that the IR receiver is positioned on the front, so you'll need to be in its line of sight to make adjustments.

One aspect that didn't live up to expectations was the sound sensor. While the idea of lights reacting to music is fantastic, in practice, it required cranking up a 100w amp to high levels to see significant responsiveness. This may not be ideal for all setups or preferences.

Mounting the light is straightforward, thanks to its compatibility with truss C clamps. However, the inability to daisy chain the power is a significant drawback, especially when using multiple units. This is less than ideal from an aesthetic and safety standpoint.

This par can LED light is a fair choice for DJ parties, discos, weddings, and other dry indoor/outdoor events where vibrant, dynamic lighting is desired. Its lightweight design, acceptable light output, and color mixing capabilities are definite pluses. With proper planning and setup, these lights can add a significant wow factor to your events; keep those instructions until you are comfortable with its features.

Purchased for a theatrical production. Unfortunately I bought it early and didn't try it before it was needed - after only 2 tries, it completely died. After the return window.

This was easy to use come with a remote control and it has several light settings. The light itself doesn't cover a large area but it covers enough. This was easy to put together as well, you just screw two screws in and that's it. also came wait instructions.
