1. Deep Pockets Galore:
Let's talk about pockets - these pants have it all! The deep, well-designed pockets are a lifesaver, offering ample storage without sacrificing style. The cargo pockets are strategically placed and provide easy access, making these pants ideal for both everyday wear and outdoor adventures.
2. Incredible Durability and Ripstop Magic:
The durability of these pants is unparalleled. The ripstop material not only adds a rugged aesthetic but also ensures that they can handle whatever life throws at them. From rough outdoor activities to everyday wear and tear, these pants have proven to be up to the challenge, maintaining their integrity and appearance.
3. Incomparable Water Wicking Resistance:
The water-wicking resistance of these pants is truly remarkable. I've been caught in unexpected rain showers, and the water-resistant feature has kept me comfortably dry. It's a game-changer for anyone who needs reliable performance in various weather conditions.
4. Action Waistband for Comfort:
The action waistband is a thoughtful addition, providing a comfortable and secure fit. Whether I'm on the move or sitting for an extended period, the flexibility of the waistband ensures that these pants move with me, enhancing overall comfort.
5. Versatile Style:
Beyond their functionality, these pants boast a versatile style that seamlessly transitions from outdoor adventures to casual outings. The clean lines and attention to detail in the design make them a wardrobe staple that I find myself reaching for consistently.
In conclusion, the 5.11 Tactical Men's Taclite Pro Lightweight Performance Pants are a standout in the world of tactical apparel. From the deep pockets to the incredible durability, ripstop material, water-wicking resistance, and versatile style, these pants tick all the boxes. If you're in search of performance-driven, stylish, and durable pants, look no further. Five stars all the way!
1. Elastic Waistband - These aren't exactly clubbing attire, so I'm assuming most men purchase them for performing physical activities. I also assume that 9/10 owners wear the rip-stop belt to keep them snug. Physical activities lead to sweat, and elastic waistbands and sweat do not mix. Within 30 minutes on a hot day the waistband will start chafing against your skin. Obviously physical activities vary, but after a long day of riding my motorcycle in the Texas heat these pants rubbed me so raw that I actually had to wear sweat pants to work for several days. A minor gripe for some, but a design flaw all the same. We're not obese, and we're not a 7 year old living in the 80s, so get rid of the elastic waistband. Use the simple strap adjustments like the military grade trousers use.
2. The primary fastener is a press stud (snaps). Yes you read that correctly, aput on. Note to designers- That snaps don't belong on adult trousers. snap, just like we had on our pants as kids back in the 80s. I don't think this design flaw needs much of an explanation. On the plus side they do have a standard button fastener directly below the snap, which is great, but leaves the wearer scratching their head every time these trousers are
3. Depth of back pockets - Now this one is a bit subjective. I typically keep my wallet in my back pocket. I say typically, because I can't in these pants. The rear pockets are so deep and wide that my wallet actually sits below my butt and shifts around. Not hard to feel a wallet turned sideways below your butt. And when driving in the truck it felt like I was sitting on something. I constantly had to adjust my position to keep it from pressing on the back of my leg. Eventually I just started carrying it in the side pocket. Bear in mind that this is again only a minor gripe, and a subjective one at that. For some the extra large pockets may be ideal for holding tools, ammo, a package of Twinkies, etc..
Conclusion- I'm very picky when it comes to recommending a product. Certainly not something that I just hand out whenever something makes me happy. With said, I do recommend these pants. As I mentioned earlier, in this day and age a pair pants that actually fits, feels comfortable, and can stand the test of time, are certainly worth $60 in my opinion. I will be purchasing more of these (in my actual size this time).
