This 12 gauge steel wire is soft enough to bend with your hands, but sturdy enough for many common applications. I have used it to temporarily hang automotive brake calipers when performing brake service, as well as tying cattle panels to T-posts when fencing.

I use this for trellising grapes, but I found that the plastic covered version is better since it cuts into the plants less.

Thank goodness I ordered 2 bundles. Each loose bundle was about 100 ft long. I did not have a tension tool to pull tight to get a perfect straight line. If I had thick metal stakes or wooden posts, I would surely used one. Instead, I used those 14-Gauge Green Steel U-Fence Post with Anchor Plate. In trying to pull the wire tight, it bent them. So the wire was not taut.

I am so glad I ordered 12 gauge wire instead of the recommended 10 gauge wire for my grape vine trellis. Any thicker wire with my set up would have been difficult, expensive, and unnecessary.
