About this item
On any day our paths would never cross. Then I was forced to go to the Ruthless Disciples. Every month they do something called the hunt. I didn't plan to ever attend an event, but I needed the money. I thought it was nothing more than an adult version of hide-and-seek.
I had no idea how wrong I was. Nor did I know I’d meet my worst nightmare that night: Andrew “Drew” Marshall, popular-as-hell football star and a Greek god among mere mortals. To anyone else, he would appear to be normal, a good guy. But that night I saw the cruel, dark monster hidden underneath. He was the epitome of evil, the leader of the Disciples, and I was his newest obsession.
This is a dark enemies-to-lovers romance with many triggers. It is a complete standalone that contains a happily ever after.

So much happened in this book. And I loved everything I read. I am mad I just read this, as I’ve had this book on my Kindle for a while now. Don’t put this off, read it asap!!!
Maybel aka Bel and Andrew aka Drew, meet because Bel’s roommate convinces Bel to do a “Hunt” challenge to race through the woods, and the winner gets a lot of money which Bel needs to take care of her sick mother. The chase scene through the woods had me on the edge of my seat. It was sooo hot and spicy.
The push and pull between Drew and Bel was sooo entertaining to read. He didn’t want her, but then he did. A lot goes on! So much is left unsaid between Bel and Drew. Drew has a lot going on as he has a bumpy relationship with his father. I need answers. I can’t wIt to read the second book because this cliffhanger is absolutely insane!!! I loved this book so much and highly recommended it!
Bel is seen as white trash but she was manipulated and was in the wrong place at the perfect time. At the end you realize you were so foolish. Kinda like the sixth sense. Anyway Drew was perfect on paper (my paper) crazy possessive filthy tongue and all kinds of sick. Like I said perfect. Let's see what Sebastian has in store for her. Cliff hangers are bananas but Beck has me by the lady balls because I'm downloading book two as I write....
She then entered The Hunt in hopes of winning 25k for her sick mother. Now, this is when she had me yelling at my phone. Her friend explained things and even told her she didn’t have to do it. I understand why, but when Drew was chasing her, she acted all “sassy” and hostile when knowing beforehand if a person gets caught what it meant. Then proceeded to try to find a way around the agreement when she knew what it all would mean.

Drew was a morally gray character. So unhinged. I feel like characters like him do bad things. Unforgivable things. Yet somewhere very, very deep inside is a soft spot for their love interest. Maybel being that person for him. If you think about it, he let her get away with things others wouldn’t have been able to. He’d done some unforgivable things to her. Things I wouldn’t have forgiven, but this is a dark romance.
His filthy words? They had me gasping.
His father was a classic you know the word. Drew was pretending to be someone completely different at school. As much as a bully he was, it wasn’t a surprise that he learned from a bully. That bully being his father. ???????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????????. I think Drew wanted to inflict the very same messed up things his father constantly inflicted on him. Drew has done some messed up things, but in a way I felt sorry for him. To have a father like that. A sick mother who was the only one who cared about him.
Aside from Maybel annoying me during The Hunt, I actually liked her character. Having a sick mother has to be mentally draining. I know if my mom was sick, I’d do anything in my power to save her, but Maybel forcing her mother to try experimental treatments felt like she was taking away her choice. Her wishes. Maybel had some, ???????????????? backbone as well. Even when she was scared during her interactions with Drew, she spoke her mind. Stood her ground, not that it did any good. The banter between them was something else I enjoyed. She gave as good as she could. However, sometimes she didn’t have any backbone at all. She’d have sass, but ultimately let Drew do or say whatever. Even being called his “girlfriend” had her so weak.

Drew became very POSSESSIVE rather quickly. His possessiveness ran so deeply, I had to smile that an ordinary girl like Bel had him so bent out of shape.

Reality will always hit you in unexpected ways. Which neither saw coming. While I enjoyed this book very much, there was nothing but smex between them. No real connection. We saw different sides—a more caring side of Drew that he sometimes let out around her. Even in his messed up ways. We saw a completely different side of Maybel since meeting Drew. Together? Their interactions always led to something sexual.

That’s the mask of Drew slipping. Finally showing something real. As unhinged and psychotic Drew is, I know it’s a mask which makes me like his character. The ending once again Bel had me screaming at my phone. READ THE ROOM! How couldn’t she see that he was trying to protect her? She literally saw the condition his father put him in. It was harsh. And painful, but there’s no way she missed the signs when he was literally begging his father to leave her out of it.
Now Sebastian, he stole the show at the end. I’m sorry, but that little bit made me love him. Maybe I’ll change my mind about him in his book, but for now, I love Sebastian.
