My 15-month old went to a kids music event and tried to walk out of the party with 2 of these Egg Shakers. She seemed to love them so much, I had to buy her some of her own. She is very entertained with them.

Egg shakers are fun un-pitched percussion instruments. One of the pros is the ability for these instruments to be played by young children, hence helping to build an interest in music. Many of egg shakers are made out of plastic, which is moderately durable at best. This six pack of egg shakers are wooden and more durable, a big-time pro. Another pro is the aesthetic appeal. These shakers are not only durable and fun to play, but also are attractive given the designs. As far as the sound, these shakers aren't incredibly loud - a bit subdued. That would be sole the rub, and honestly, it's a nitpick. Egg shakers don't need to be incredibly dynamic. All told, these instruments adequately and satisfactorily serve their purpose.

Parents - rejoice! Here is a well made, adorable musical toy that is NOT loud! Although I am a music lover, I've hesitated to give musical toys, or early beginner instruments, to my grandchildren or the kids of friends because who wants banging (or a drum) or loud electronic music from a battery operated device. I am absolutely sending these to my grandkids. They are colorfully painted, each is slightly different and with different colors. They are made of wood NOT plastic (yay)! Best of all, the sound they make when shaken is pretty quiet. It will be loud enough for a kid to play along with their favorite record (record???), but not loud enough to disturb you, the parent, who is probably trying to work from home.

I really like these and think they would be great fun for little kids.
