I didn’t know how good these gloves would be honestly. Especially for the great price.
They are very well made. I’m dealing with an unruly cat that doesn’t deal with touching very well. Well, wearing these wonderful gloves for protection, I was very confident they would be exactly what I needed. Great product, thick and feels so professional.

I caught the neighborhood stray cat thinking "someone must be missing their cat", or that if we can't find an owner, we can keep it. Nope. It was absolutely feral and it was like having a raccoon in our house. It even perched on our showerhead. We felt unsafe in our own home and had to separate it from our own pets so it didn't attack them. We finally had to turn it over to animal control and they were going to try to home it at a farm, to live in a barn (they were going to check out the farmer first so it was taken care of). But these gloves were very sturdy, they went up to the elbow and protected us well. They were a bit tight on my husband, but fit me well.

I rescue any kind of animals so having a good pair of gloves is imperative. I like these because they fit, I can move my fingers. They aren't too short or long and I need my fingers protected. Yes you can still feel a bite but it doesn't really hurt. I don't know of of any glove out there where you won't still feel a bite. They are a good glove at a great price. ????

The price was reasonable and the material is fairly thick. Of course for German Shepard nothing is strong enough, LOL. Also, tight on my fingers, but I have that problem will all gloves.

I got these to work with some feral kittens. And they are prefect for bites and scratches. Didn't feel a thing. I wish they were a little smaller.

Perfect for handling wildlife.
Raccoon teeth are brutal… didn’t pierce my skin with these gloves on.
The fingers run long, but they are for protection not dexterity
Great price & amazing quality!!

These gloves are decent quality for the price but calling these 'Bite Proof' might cost someone some serious injuries.

These are Bite Resistant gloves at best. I had originally gotten these as I was helping to train and rehabilitate a rather large Great Dane that had been underfeed and was reactive around food.

The Dane had bite me once already over a treat I was giving to another dog and tore open my finger. However this Dane basically nipped me as there was no other damage like crushing or such done which if the dog wanted to he could of taken off my finger...

(Most of the damage was a combination of him nipping and me pulling my hand back and catching on his teeth.)

So anyways I decided I wasn't going to risk that again and bought these gloves.

Luckily for the most part the Dane rapidly settled and before the gloves arrived they were basically no longer needed.

However that doesn't mean I haven't used them at all or don't have thoughts on them...

So first their construction. I had gotten the longer version of the gloves that are supposed to come up your forearms. The hand (Top and Bottom) and just bottom finger sections of the glove have reinforcements (Black areas) that add a little extra padding and thickness however the rest of the glove is actually fairly thin.

The glove in areas without the extra padding is only about as thick as some leather work gloves with an insulating liner. Which isn't much...

If believing their claim of kevlar lining it should be much stronger though in terms of puncture resistance but the fact of the matter is that they offer almost no protection against having your fingers or hand crushed if you are bit by a big dog.

I have every bit of confidence if I was wearing those gloves when I was nipped before my hand would of been fine, and my finger wouldn't of been tore open but that's only because it would of stopped his teeth from being able to peirce my skin.

I also have every bit of confidence in saying that if I was wearing these gloves and I was actually bit by him with full power my fingers would of been crushed.

Likely to the point of severe damage. And if I was bit even with these on and he decided to try he probably still could take off a finger.

Again these are RESISTANT to bites. And you are better having them on then not. But relying on these for full protection is asking for trouble.

(Actual bite proof gloves usually have plastic or Aluminium plates in them. Or a chainmail weave. Not some extra bits of thin leather or such...)

I mean this protection is so thin I can pinch (Mimicking a bite direction) my gloved finger using my other fingers the point of pain... That ain't enough to protect you...

What is also disappointing is with the versions that comes up to your forearms is there is only padding actually in the hand areas. Past your wrist it immediately goes to being a single layer thick.

If you get bit in those areas you are relying solely on it helping to stop the teeth from sinking in. It ain't going to do basically anything to reduce the force.

In fairness because you have more tissue (Muscle, fat, skin) there than over your hands that does help spread out the force more passively. But is still dissponting.

I did get to test these a bit with him though eventually as I used them when I had to try and get him into a kennel while misbehaving and another trying to get stuff out of his mouth he shouldn't of been eating.

Good news for that is I didn't feel a thing. However I also believe at that point he wasn't even nipping very hard.

These were more excitability nips vs before where he was being agressive/defensive. So though I didn't feel anything it wasn't a super hardcore test.

I do feel confident though in that experience this would work very well and probably offer great protection (Likely to the level of being 'Bite Proof') for smaller animals like Terriers or Yorkies and such. Good protection for some Med breeds like Sheepdogs, or smaller Pitbulls. But when it comes to Large breeds like German Shephards, and Rottweilers. Or XL breeds like Mastiffs or Great Danes or such... I do NOT recommend trusting this to save your hands...

It probably would also offer really good if not full protection for Rodents, Marsupials, Birds, Reptiles and such unless they are extremely large.

And overall for the price you pay these also make really good work gloves.

My only concern is possible longevity which I haven't been able to test yet. Mainly with areas like the finger and back of the hand padding and the fold at the glove cuff that seem like they should of been double stitched and not single stitched.

But time will tell. Hopefully this all is useful information.
