5.0 out of 5 stars great value

I own many EDC knives and the Kershaw Appa Folding Serrated Tactical Pocket Knife is great for everyday carry. The assisted opening blade works like a charm, and the 2.75 inch serrated blade is just the right length to do most common tasks. I don't usually purchase the serrated blade but am glad I did on this knife. Sharpness is amazing and seems to hold its edge quite well. For the price, it is a great bargain for an EDC.

5.0 out of 5 stars It just seems "right"

First: There are a lot of great knives out there. All sorts of shapes, sizes, and prices! One needs to pick the knife that suits their needs and fits their hand and budget. Like many I have "several" knifes, from larger to smaller, different blade styles, etc, each picked for a purpose.
I wanted an EDC knife that could cover any common use I might have from sharpening a pencil, cutting a rope or line, scraping, etc. Also, this knife should be comfortable in my hand and easy to put in a pocket or clip on my belt. This knife checked all the boxes.
Its small enough to easily carry in a pocket but the blade design is such that its big enough for most common tasks. The shape of the knife and the blade just "works". It feels right in the hand and the angle of the handle and blade work out fine for my hands. The first time I opened the blade it was clear it was a great choice. The more I use it the more I like it.
What do I like (Pro's):
Sharp!
The serrated section of the blade is sized just right so that it can do its job while still leaving enough "straight" blade to handle jobs requiring it.
The shape of the blade makes it easy to use.
The fit in the hand is good for a knife this size making it easy to use.
The blade opening feature works great. (A bit stiff when it came out of the box but a drop of oil and a little "exercise" smoothed it right out
It "looks right"...sure, style isn't the most important thing but this knife, to me, looks "right".
And the big one: Its priced right and is a great value.
Cons:
I didn't buy it sooner!
I am very happy with this knife. I have used Bucks and Gerbers for decades but wanted to try a Kershaw as I had heard good things about them. I am a believer now! Love it and have bought another of their knifes in a different style.

5.0 out of 5 stars good knife at a good price

Kershaw is always good value. I have a bunch of them. 99% of the time my go to pocket knife is a Kershaw. I have a history of losing pocket knives so I prefer to not lose something expensive. It's a practical size with a good edge and it's sharp as heck. I bought this one and I liked enough that I bought another for my son. For $15 +/- you're not going to find a much better deal out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Little Knife

Overall, a decent little folding knife.
Pros: The assisted opening action is crisp and reliable. The black coating works well with this design, and the pocket clip is sturdy and doesn't dig into my hand. The blade is sharp, and the grinds are even. The design (blade shape, useful jimping, grind angle, etc) of the blade makes this a very efficient cutter, and there is an area on the top of the blade that you can use to rest your thumb. It's an inexpensive knife that is capable of doing basic EDC tasks (opening mail, cutting boxes, peeling fruit, general fishing stuff, and defending the Free World from the Lizard People. It's also not heavy, and it rides well in my pockets. The pocket clip can be attached to the other side of the knife for left handed folk, but only in the "tip up" configuration for both left and right hand carry. The knife blade locks up tight when deployed with no horizontal or vertical blade play. Out of the box, the knife easily shaves hair from my arm.
Cons: It's a smaller knife, so there's not much real estate to hold on to, and the wee flipper tab digs into my pointer finger when I grip the handle tight. The liner catches the blade back directly in the middle of the contact area (a little late in the lockup), but this doesn't affect the performance of the knife.
Again, it's a decent little Chinese made flipper with 8Cr13 steel, that is capable of performing basic light end EDC tasks. I purchased this for less than $17, and I can recommend it for what it is.

Sharp and light enough for everyday carry. The clip works great. Due to the low weight and small size, it is easy to wear comfortably. What I love most about this knife is that the clip can be switched to the other side of the handle.

Solid, sharp, great clip on the side, good design, easy open (but not accidentally).

Only problem is that it is rather wide…

This is a great knife. I carry it daily. Sharp blade. Small so it carries easy in front pocket. The open assist allows for a very fast 1 hand opening.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was just okay for the Kershaw name

Liked: blade and steel quality. Disliked: chunky handle felt cheap. It definitely felt like the handle could have been more thin and made of higher quality materials… but I suppose for $17 you get what you paid for.

Blade is sharp and holds a good edge. Going to be a white elephant gift not an edc for me. I liked my ‘Oso’ much better for size comparison... but the oso starts at $30.
