The Pokémon TCG Battle Academy includes 3 complete Pokémon TCG decks (60 cards each). Each deck includes a powerful special Pokémon: Armarouge ex, Pikachu ex, or Darkrai ex.
This also contains all-new promo cards: 4 Mareep, 3 Flaaffy, 2 Ampharos, 4 Pawniard, 3 Bisharp, 2 Kingambit, 1 Miraidon, and 6 Picnicker
You will also receive 1 instruction sheet to help you set up to play, 2 tutorial guides to lead you through the decks, 1 two-player game board, and 3 deck boxes to keep the cards organized.

One issue for us. My little one will not allow me to return. The beautiful Pikachu card was on top and bent up inside the box. As the gift giver it was just devastating. He got so many cards it really isn’t a big deal to him. He was still happy but I just couldn’t give 5 stars.

I honestly enjoy this Pokémon board . It is easy to understand and it comes with cards so if you don’t have any cards you can just play with these cards. I think it is good for anyone whether you are a beginner or a good player it is great

The Battle Academy is the perfect introduction to the Pokemon card game. It's a complete box set with everything you're going to need for two players. The right mixture of cards is included in the three decks that are included. This is a great way to learn the game and see if you like it. The 2024 version of Battle Academy ensures that you are learning the game with the most current active sets of cards. Each year different sets of cards will get rotated out of play. That said, the 2022 edition of Battle Academy can be found at a good discount with the release of the 2024 edition and it's still a good way to learn and try the game. Personally if you have no idea if you're going to like the game I'd snag a discounted copy of the 2022 Battle Academy because it's still essentially the same game and you'll learn all the rules. Whichever version you get Pokemon Battle Academy is the best way to to learn the game, and a good way for casual players to have a boxed set on hand without having to invest in individual packs of cards. Highly recommended!
