4.0 out of 5 stars Round Plastic Orb with Colorful Marbles Inside; Noisy; Is it a Rubik’s Cube?
Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2024
Points
Strong
Durable
Nothing broke
Colorful marbles
More than enough noise
No words, music, nor sounds

How this arrived.
This arrived with minimal retail packaging – it’s like an orb and was made part of that packaging.

Giftable?
Yes, it presents handsomely, within its retail packaging.

Orb?
Astronomy – it’s like a celestial sphere with what I would say are marbles inside.

Objective?
To get the marbles that are inside the plastic sphere to align in a particular order – i.e., color pattern.

Instructions included?
Yes, accordion like, round in shape, which are pulled open, that display colorful pictures that identify the possible marble patterns.

Web-site available?
Yes, see bottom of orb.

Educational value?
Hmm, some. Teases the brain.

Is this like a Rubik’s Cube?
It’s a 3D like mind puzzle.

Is it difficult?
For an adult, hmm, I thought it cute and interesting. For a child? Depends on their ages. Pre-school toddlers and early elementary school do find it a challenge, at first. But once the code is broken, they can create the patterns depending on time, rather than level of difficulty.

Easily solvable?
As an adult, I found that it was – but I also reviewed the instructions and the video available. The early elementary school student found success, early on, without help; and the pre-school toddlers found it interesting, for a bit, with the assistance of the elementary aged student, but then moved on.

Where is it now?
On a shelf, waiting for someone to play with it.

Easy to store?
Yes.

Easy to travel with?
Yes

Noisy?
Depends on who is holding it, I made some noise with it, as did the elementary aged student, the toddlers? Shakey – Shakey was what they did, as they thought it a good noise maker – but at that point, I did not appreciate the noise as much as they did.

Size?
The orb itself is about 3” in diameter and weighs just over (3) ounces.

Theme?
Arrange marbles, by color, inside a plastic orb.

Brand?
I am not familiar with this brand, prior to seeing and selecting this.

Is this durable and sturdy?
Somewhat, it was dropped on soft surfaces and survived.

Does this have music?
No

Does this make noise?
When shaken in any capacity, yes.

Does this have words?
No

Is there flashing of lights?
No, just colorful marbles.

Age appropriate for?
Recommended ages suggested. However, optimal appears the very young to the more seasoned of adults, for hand and eye coordination and mental acuity stimulation

County of origin
China

Wish list?
A pouch to carry this in.

Would I select this again?

Value?
Competitively priced.

Batteries needed?
No.

Criticism?
Nothing significant; other than it’s on the noisy side when those marbles inside get jostled.

Complexity?
On a timeline and solvability basis, I found the Rubik’s cube much more complex and considerably more time consuming; so, that means, this is on the opposite end of the chain, as compared.

Rating?
It’s a weak four (4) stars for me. What kept this out of three (3) or less stars territory was that it was reasonable in price and does provide some complexity, for the very young and those on the extreme opposite end of the age spectrum.

I hope my thoughts added information.

5.0 out of 5 stars This puzzle is SUPER FUN!

The media could not be loaded.
I got this for my daughter. She is always on the lookout for cool new puzzles. This one is super fun! She loves it! You scramble it by turning it upside down for a second and then the balls all go to random spots. Then you twist it and roll them through the little tunnel dome in the middle to sort out colors or do a pattern. There is this long accordian Guide in the box that has 30 different pictues of patterns you can try to solve for. If two people have the puzzle, you race to see who can do a pattern first! It seems like there are different techniques of loading up balls into the middle and spinning the domes a certain way. Some techniques are faster so you can actually get more skill for racing. Hard to put down...

I like to buy new releases so I bought SCRAMBOOZLE. Wow! What a fantastic and pleasant surprise!
I love it!! Object is to turn and tilt the ball to get the balls in the correct locations. It's totally fun turning the outer and inner domes and rolling the colored balls where they need to go. The instructions include pictures with lots of challenges so there's tons of play value. I can even imagine racing against another player to see who can perform the challenge faster. This is great for all ages! I'm going to buy a bunch to give as gifts. SCRAMBOOZLE is a winner! Highly recommended!

I really like the concept of the puzzle ball. It's a lot of fun and I love all the different challenges. Unfortunately, my son (5) doesn't love it. He doesn't complain about anything in particular, it just doesn't seem to be very exciting for him. I'm hoping he likes it more when he's a little older. 8/10

I got this game because my family loves brain teaser games and I wanted to give it a try. The most important thing I can mention about our experience with this game is people either love it or hate it. I was one who enjoys it. I like making the patterns of colors, I think it is challenging and stimulating, and I like the low cost. My elementary aged child also loves this game. She thinks it’s fun and I like that she’s using her brain and higher level thinking. Those in my family who didn’t like it said it was boring, too easy, and not fun at all (like school work). It is the perfect handheld size for traveling or taking along shopping, etc. It’s low priced enough to give it a try to see what you and/or your family think. Fun game!
