Will look forward to seeing the quality of pencils, oils, water color paint and crayons, but at first glance they look of good quality. Plastic inlays hold things in place - no handle, so not designed to carry, but an attractive art center. There is one hinge to keep the lid open in place and stopping it from fully opening (good thing). One coloring book and two drawing pads a nice touch so you can be creative right away. I would give high marks on trying to balance shipping weight and an attractive art collection. The box and drawer are not designed to last forever and we'll made for the most users. Age 7 little girl very excited to see such a wide selection that she can call her own. ????
