5.0 out of 5 stars great for poker players!

As a poker player I saw the title and thought I might find some valuable tools to use at the table. I was right about this! From tips on reading body language, to self hypnosis, to tips on manipulating others, this book was exactly what I was looking for and exceeded all my expectations! I first purchased the audiobook, then had to buy the kindle version as well. I highly recommend this book. Not only does it help you read others intentions, it helps you learn how to protect yourself from the manipulation of others. I will be reading this book again, and I’m sure I’ll keep coming back to it for years to come. Great read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Insightful Guide to Understanding and Resisting Manipulation

Dark Psychology and Mind Games (2 in 1 Bible) is a fascinating and practical resource for anyone looking to better understand human behavior and protect themselves from manipulation. Halbert Ward’s 2024 edition offers a well-structured and thorough exploration of dark psychology, divided into two comprehensive books that delve into topics like deception, emotional blackmail, workplace dynamics, and emotional intelligence.

Book One provides readers with tools such as a “deception decoder” and strategies to build healthier relationships, while Book Two expands on understanding body language, workplace politics, and fostering genuine connections. The chapters on ethical influence and emotional resilience are especially noteworthy, offering empowering advice to help readers navigate relationships with clarity and confidence.

While the content is engaging and packed with practical insights, I found the cover lacking—it doesn’t capture the attention or reflect the depth of the material inside. A more dynamic design could better convey the value of the book.

Overall, this is a valuable guide for anyone interested in self-development, understanding manipulation, and improving interpersonal relationships. Highly recommended for those who want to boost their people skills and psychological awareness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written

Despite the name, dark psychology can be used for good or bad. Dark psychology has been around for hundreds of years, just with a different nametag. At some point, most of us have been subjects of manipulation, motivation, or persuasion; this was dark psychology in action. However, it can also be also used to improve your self-esteem, your career, and your personal life. The first book covers interpreting body language, increasing emotional intelligence, and mastering manipulation techniques. The second book teaches how to spot manipulators and resist their techniques. Very informative and well-researched guide that helped me spot manipulators amongst my co-workers and friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading title: no mind game covered, superficial and unhelpful information
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2024
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this book on dark psychology and mind games. It is utterly useless for anyone wanting to learn about dark psychology, whether you're a novice or already an expert.
The dark psychology techniques are covered in a scant 8 pages, and the examples provided make no sense at all. It's shocking how such a critical topic could be treated so superficially. The explanations are shallow and fail to provide any real understanding or practical application of these techniques.
The chapter on hypnosis is equally disappointing. It's repetitive, and in some sections, the passages are totally illogical and rambling. It's as if the author didn't even bother to organize their thoughts or provide coherent information. Reading this chapter was a frustrating experience, and it left me more confused than informed.
When it comes to red flags, which are crucial for understanding and recognizing manipulation tactics, the book falls incredibly short. This vital topic is covered in a small, single page. Such a complex and important subject deserved much more in-depth exploration.
The book doesn't really cover "mind games" at all. The information presented is generic and can easily be found in other sources. There is nothing new, insightful, or practical in this book. It feels like a collection of random information hastily thrown together without any real thought or structure.
In conclusion, this book is not recommended. It's poorly written, superficial, and completely misleading. Save your money and look for a more comprehensive and well-researched resource. disappointed and angry that such a subpar product is being sold. Avoid this book at all costs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really great read and advice!

I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Psychology. It was very interesting, especially in the beginning. As someone who is new to this way of thinking, I wasn't sure that I would be able to comprehend some of the more complex methods. But the author introduces you in an approachable way.

The combination of the two topics that covers “mind games” and “dark psychology” makes it a worthwhile read. This book is good because it explains how to manage and exert control over your thoughts, emotions, and behavior. I’ve learned so much from this book about how to protect yourself from mental and emotional attacks while building genuine connections. It will also alter the way you understand the people you see every day. Overall, I recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really what I hoped for

I couldn’t really get into this. As it’s called a bible I thought it would be extremely comprehensive but it seemed more like an intro to dark psychology.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It's not a bad book. It offers good information and I thought the content was good, the formatting needs some work. Also, it didn't feel that the information was covered or given as thoroughly as it could have been. I would suggest the author reformat the book to make it an a more enjoyable and easier read.
