About this item

Supreme Court candidates are being murdered—and only Alex Cross and John Sampson can take the case in The House of Cross.

“[Alex Cross’s] innate nature is to protect people…If he has a weakness, it’s his family, especially his children. They’re the chink in his armor. But aside from that, it’s tough to get at him.”–Aldis Hodge, star of Cross on Prime Video

In Washington, DC, the president-elect is planning her inauguration.

The list of Supreme Court candidates is highly confidential—until it becomes evidence in Detective Alex Cross’s toughest investigation.

One candidate is gunned down. A second is stabbed. A third is murdered near midnight on a city street.

Cross is the FBI’s top expert in criminal behavior. For the sake of his family, his city, and his country, he must put himself in the most dangerous place there is: inside the mind of a diabolical killer.

This book has lots of action and a mystery to solve.
Keeps you guessing on who, how and why. I love the well developed characters.
I think they should make the whole series of Cross books into a TV series. I truly enjoy his books.
I recommend this book to all who love a good action FBI story.

This is seriously one of the best Alex Cross books Ive read in a very long time. I love the familiarity with which all of these books are written as if you know each and every character villains and all .
It was so exciting so many plot twist and so much scary new technology, which is probably not all fiction. I’ve read all of the Alex Cross books that James Patterson has written and I am already excited about the next one. This is a book that you could read as a first time, but it’s so much better if you’ve read all 32 of his other books I just can’t say enough……fabulous read love love loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good… mostly

This one kept my interest throughout and was a really well crafted story. The only negative was the part that felt like an Austin Powers movie with Dr. Evil in his high tech lair. A bit laughable. Otherwise, great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Cross Thriller

I look forward to an annual Alex Cross thriller from James Patterson. The latest story does not disappoint. Alex Cross, his wife Bree, his best Friend John Sampson and his FBI partner Ned Mahoney are all in the hunt for the mysterious serial killer M and his organization Maestro. Three prospective supreme court justices are murdered and a mysterious female killer killed each of them. Finally in this book Cross and the others identify and catch up with M. Or is it the other way around. They meet up in the Canadian tundra and its not clear they can survive this encounter. The book is thrilling and it doesn't end in the tundra. It goes on to inaguration day for a new president Believe me, this is a hard book to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Always a good effort by Mr Patterson

I eagerly await most of Mr. Pattersons's character driven books. In this effort my only comment is the chase scenes are not easily followed and become diffucult to stay engaged. Some of the characters seem a bit unrealistic at times. I still love the back strory with Ned. Bree, and the rest of Cross's family. in his series methodology. I will await his next efforts with excited anticipation.

Exciting. One of Patterson’s best Alex Cross novels. Maybe The House of Cross is the best. I enjoyed the reading and having the chance to link up with my old friends Alex, Sampson, Nana Mama, Bree et al.
