Grandma's gift to our 7 year old daughter (I did the research). It's a little pricey but seems worth it. Really light but built solidly. Takes 6 AA batteries or the wall wort. The batteries are a great option.
I thought it would be too big for her but it's actually a decent size that she can grow into nicely. I was most concerned about sound quality, which is why I went for Yamaha quality. The sound is great. Very realistic for a beginner keyboard. One thing I really like is the button layout is not cumbersome or overly complicated. It seems pretty intuitive and I'm sure my daughter will have it figured out in a short amount of time.
If we experience issues, I'll be sure to come back and update this review. But so far, we're pretty happy with this purchase.
