5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable Protection for Large Hands: A Review of Carhartt Men's WP Waterproof Insulated
Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2024
As someone with larger hands, finding gloves that offer a snug fit without sacrificing mobility and durability has been a challenge. However, my search came to a satisfying end with the Carhartt Men's WP Waterproof Insulated Glove.

First and foremost, the XX-Large size of these gloves is truly accommodating for larger hands. The fit is comfortable without feeling restrictive, allowing for full range of motion. Whether gripping tools or maneuvering objects, these gloves provide the dexterity needed for various tasks.

One of the standout features of these gloves is their durability. I've put them through rigorous tests, including dragging my hands through snow to slow down while hiking, and they've held up impressively well. The reinforced stitching and sturdy construction ensure that they withstand heavy use and abuse, making them ideal for outdoor activities in harsh conditions.

The waterproofing of these gloves is another highlight. I've worn them in wet and snowy conditions, and my hands have remained dry and warm throughout. The insulation provides excellent warmth without being bulky, allowing for comfortable wear in cold temperatures.

Additionally, the dark grey and black color scheme adds a touch of style to these functional gloves, making them suitable for both work and casual wear.

Overall, the Carhartt Men's WP Waterproof Insulated Glove is a reliable choice for individuals with larger hands who require durable, waterproof protection in various outdoor settings. From hiking to working in the yard, these gloves offer the perfect combination of comfort, durability, and performance. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of quality gloves that can keep up with their active lifestyle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good warmth, acceptable fit for extra small hands/long fingers
Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2024
First of all, thank you to the reviewer on the ladies' version of these gloves who recommended just going with the men's version. It's disappointing how often women's clothes end up being objectively worse than the mens' version.

For fit, I'm typically a small or medium in women's glove sizes. I will note that I have small hands, but very long/spidery fingers, and often end up with gloves with fingers that are too short. Men's S was a near-perfect fit on the finger length, but definitely too wide. (Not docking any stars for poor fit since I'm not the intended hand size, but hopefully this is informative.) The adjustable wrist straps are very helpful and cinch enough to my wrists that the gloves feel secure and not at any risk of coming off accidentally.

For features, the grippy palm/finger texture is very, very good - so good that I can get a plastic dog bag opened up, which normally I have to take off a glove and often lick my fingertips to get enough grip for. Definitely not the best for dexterity work, but that's a tradeoff that can't really be avoided if you want gloves with high warmth. The felt strip on the back to wipe your nose is a really clever inclusion. As mentioned, the wrist cinch helped with fit a lot, although it would be nice if it had some Velcro or something to keep the adjustment. The thing to clip them together is nice to have in theory, but you have to push really hard to get them separated again, which is annoying - I was almost afraid of breaking the clip before it would release the first time.

No complaints on the warmth or waterproofing. Had an oddly warm winter so they didn't get field tested very much, but they did hold up respectably well during the Midwest polar vortex back in mid-Jan. Didn't notice any dampness after wearing during snowstorms. Did a fine job keeping my hands warm for hour-long dog park trips at around 20-30 degrees F. Overall I'm happy with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall Good

Received these today and purchased the 2xl.
I have larger hands and I've never had gloves that fit me properly. Although the fingers seem a tad short, I can actually make a fist in these without fear of splitting the side seams.

Quality seems ok, but I'll make sure to put them on by tugging on the outer shell. The interior lining is thick, but seems easy to stretch out over time.

Gloves seem very warm. I was inside when trying them out, but after a minute or so, my hands started to get a little toasty. Now, if they are waterproof as advertised, that'll be a win win.

Despite the brand name, these do not seem to be heavy duty work gloves. They are everyday, chores in the yard, running around town type of gloves.

Overall, they seem ok and should last several seasons, and they fit my hands which is awesome in and of itself. No regrets.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good winter/snow gloves

I've only worn these for a day, but so far I'm relatively pleased. The main negatives I've almost instantly discovered are few. These are rather thick, insulated gloves, and lack any decent dexterity. I could hold my dogs leash but could barely grasp my house keys. I don't think they were advertised as touch screen ,but in case anyone thought they might be, they definitely are not. They are also not the easiest to adjust once on, and there is the tightening mechanism which needs to be adjusted once they are both on. I figured out that if I tighten it just enough that I can still fit my hand in it'll be doable once they are on to further adjust, but if I didn't adjust at all before putting them on, I might as well not try. On the plus side these are comfortable and warm. I was out for an hour in 25 degrees and felt fine. I imagine they'd hold up well down to single digits, but I doubt I'll encounter much of that this winter. Snow is expected this weekend so that'll be a good test, but they do claim to be water resistant and seem solid for wet weather. I also like the nose wipe material on the thumb, very useful for gross people like myself who get drippy noses in cold weather. All things considered, for the price, these are solid cold winter gloves and I'm happy I didn't spend $50+ for a different brand
