I recently purchased my second NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (GS305) to add ports to my growing number of connected devices. While it may not have the bells and whistles of more advanced switches, it serves its purpose well as a basic networking solution.

The installation process was a breeze; I plugged in the power adapter and connected my devices using Ethernet cables. The switch immediately recognized the devices, and I experienced a noticeable improvement in network speeds versus WiFi connection speeds.

The compact design of the GS305 is a plus, taking up minimal space, aand its metal casing gives it a sturdy feel. The indicator lights on the front provide clear information about the status of each port.

While it lacks advanced management options, the simplicity of the GS305 is an advantage if you prefer a plug-and-play solution without dealing with complex configurations.

I purchased the NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch to boost my internet signal, and it has exceeded all my expectations! I needed a solution to splice a very long Ethernet line to get the internet into my unit, and this switch worked perfectly. Setup was incredibly easy, and it started working right out of the box. I was worried that extending my Ethernet line might affect the speed, but this switch handles it like a charm. The speeds are consistently fast and stable, with no noticeable lag or drops in connection. It’s compact, reliable, and delivers excellent performance — a must-have for anyone looking to extend or enhance their network. Highly recommended!

This little Ethernet switch seems well made and worked perfectly out of the box. Used it in the TV stand to connect a mini PC media server and tuner to the switch, so one Ethernet cable could be run to the router in a different room.

The only subjective con to some might be the green LED lights on the ports, if the switch isn't hidden away, but in my case the TV stand has smoke colored glass that hides everything inside so it isn't an issue. I'd buy it again.

I bought this to hardwire a fire stick and a Xbox and my downstairs entertainment system. My Wi-Fi signal was weak at this location so I decided to hardwire everything. This ended up being the perfect solution and is definitely plug and Play. Very easy to use. Both the fire stick and the Xbox run great and again, very easy to use and set up.
