Book 4 of the Under the Mistletoe Collection was entertaining. Through a series of unfortunate events, Everleigh gets close to Griffin, the sexy fireman that rescued her twice. It was a cute and spicy Christmas themed short story.

Cute and Fun, but Not Life-Changing

Merriment and Mayhem was a sweet and flirty holiday read with some laugh-out-loud moments, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. The premise of a baking disaster leading to sparks with a hot firefighter was definitely entertaining, and I appreciated the humor woven throughout the story.

Everleigh and Griffin had solid chemistry, and their interactions were charming, but the short format didn’t give their romance much room to fully develop. It’s a quick, fun read that’s great for getting into the holiday spirit, but it’s more of a feel-good snack than a satisfying meal.

If you’re in the mood for lighthearted holiday mishaps and a festive romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this one is worth a read!

5.0 out of 5 stars ???? Hot Holiday Hero!

Way to make this male main seem absolutely unattainably hot in so few pages! Not only is he smoking hot (literally… the female main summoned the fire department in a smoky, burned cookies fiasco) but he’s funny and kind and the whole dang package… and persistent!

This short story is a perfect little tidbit with minimal holiday and maximum flirty romance with a BANG ending. Loved it!

I liked the story a lot. But the filth at the end ruined it. I know a lot of people enjoy the nasty words but I don’t. Probably would have skipped it if I had known about the end. Ruined the whole story for me

4.0 out of 5 stars My favorite so far in the series

Now we're on to the 4th installment of this series and my favorite one so far. I completely relate to Everleigh and her accident-prone ways. If I haven't done one of her mishaps yet, it's quite likely that I would if I were ever in that situation. And seriously, who hasn't had fantasies of the hottie firefighter coming to her rescue? This was a short story that actually came together quite well in spite of it being short. You knew enough of where you were coming from and had pretty clear direction where the story was going to go, even after "The End." The supplementary characters added to the story. I loved their banter. I would absolutely love to visit this couple and this town again in the future!

I honestly didn’t enjoy this story. I felt like this fell into the novella trap where the plot was not solidified and I didn’t get enough of any of the characters to get me invested. The spice seemed out of place at that point because I didn’t have any real understanding of their relationship.

3.0 out of 5 stars maybe skip the audio.

I’m conflicted on how to rate this. I started listening on my drive home from the chiropractor. It was in my Audible library and was easy to access via CarPlay. I didn’t love it. When I got home I realized it was one of the short stories in the collection and I was already halfway through so I might as well finish.

It’s a slow burn but at 80% it suddenly got very steamy really fast. I paused the audio to look at the ebook because I was wondering if she really just said he grabbed her c***. From there I stayed with the ebook because I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator and just the short amount of graphic dialogue I heard her read wasn’t great. I liked the remainder of the book better where I could interpret the tone and inflection myself. I wish I had just read the ebook for all of it. This is somewhere between a 2 and 3 for me so I rounded up giving the benefit of the doubt that the narration influenced me.

I loved the multiple meet-cutes between Everleigh and Griffin. I loved Griffin’s flirtiness. And I thought the spice was pretty legit. Overall, I’d say this one was more fun and happy vs. swoony, and that’s ok in a collection like this where readers get options.
