About this item

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially for a comic book illustrator whose late-night naughty fantasies become real in a festive and spicy short story by bestselling author Alexis Daria.

All Evie Cruz wants for Christmas is a nap. And maybe some ornaments for her naked Christmas tree. And while she’s making a list, she wouldn’t mind unwrapping her sexy upstairs neighbor like a present. Luckily, the building’s Santa-themed party and a surprise sprig of mistletoe give her just the opening she needs to make all her wishes come true.

Alexis Daria’s Only Santas in the Building is part of Under the Mistletoe, a collection of sexy December romances to warm the cold winter nights. They can be read or listened to in one swoony sitting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Evie and Theo!

Another adorable read! I knew immediately where the ornaments came from and I was so excited to see how Evie found out. Theo is so sweet and was pining after Evie for months. He thought she was beautiful every time he saw her even when she thought she looked like a mess. I loved how honest he was with her when they started opening up. Such a cute read! ✨

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Festive, but Nothing Groundbreaking

Only Santas in the Building was a decent read, but it didn’t completely blow me away. As part of a collection of Christmas novellas, it stood out as one of the better stories in the group, but it still felt a bit rushed and lacked depth.

The setup is fun—Evie, a comic book illustrator, fantasizing about her charming neighbor, and the Santa-themed party provides a great festive backdrop. There are some flirty and steamy moments that are enjoyable, and Alexis Daria’s writing has a playful vibe that fits the holiday theme.

That said, the story didn’t have enough time to really develop the characters or their relationship in a satisfying way. It’s a quick and light read that’s perfect for an evening in, but I wouldn’t call it particularly memorable.

If you’re looking for something short and sweet to get you in the holiday spirit, this one might do the trick, but don’t expect it to leave a lasting impression.

I loved this one. Sweet and cute story without being too spicy. Not sure why everyone in every story now uses the “f” word so frequently but I’m willing to overlook that for a good story. This was a good one. I will read more by this author

This was a really cute novella! A bit dorky/cringey, but I overall liked it. The Santa party was hilarious, and the MMC was very sweet!

I’ve been working my way through the Under the Mistletoe collection today, doing the audio of each of them while I get chores done. I had never read/listened anything from this author before. I thought the story was well paced, fun, and sweet. I prefer a little more emotional angst and drama in my romance stories but for a quick holiday novella this was fun.

Evie is working in her new apartment on a tight deadline to deliver her latest comic book. She has a crush on her upstairs neighbor Theo but is too busy and too shy to approach him. She keeps running into him in the hallway and always when she looks horrible. Then a neighbor on the top floor throws a Christmas party. Things start happening at the party and the story goes on. A fun short Christmas read.

This was a cute story. More my speed. Love that there were homemade ornaments and a secret Santa. Lesson to be learned, don’t judge a book by its cover! ????
