5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Lighter Snow

To be honest I bought this with a very particular use in mind. I have a larger three stage blower for heavier snow but it is a pain to get up and running and maneuver around, to the point that for snow fall under 2 inches, it is not worth the trouble of getting it going. I needed something that would save my back from the wear and tear of manual shoveling but not overpowered like my big blower, this came in perfect. It is fairly lightweight but packs a decent punch of snow clearing power. It doesn't have wheels so it operates more similar to a shovel with you having to push it along, but it cuts through snow quickly without much effort. This is the perfect solution if you dont get huge amounts of snow or just need something for the lighter times. The battery life is very good , I have yet to have it die on me and it charges pretty fast as well. The assembly is very straightforward, the only possible confusion is the direction of the shaft but thats easily remedied if you get it wrong. Overall great product, very happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use

OMG when you use this be sure you have enough room in the front to throw the snow. Very powerful blower, just like the big ones. This can be a help and an issue. The item works great, it works best on fresh snow and not to deep. It has helped because of back pain, good for decks sidewalk. The chute can't be turned so snow blows in front. Works great for small areas.

I love it! Lightweight, snow removal was great as long as the snow is not real deep. Battery life about 45 minutes. Able to do deep snow but cuts battery time in half. I recommend getting two batteries. Easy assemble. If you could run a vacuum, you could run the snowblower.

1.0 out of 5 stars not as cool as it looks and broke within 8 weeks

First of all, I'm not clear on why anyone raves about this thing. It basically works ok (when it works). Since it's not a real snow blower, you can't angle which direction the snow goes, which is inconvenient but workable. And it does work relatively well in thick wet snow, which was a pleasant surprise. The problem is, the more thick the snow, the shorter the battery life. Even in ideal conditions and going very conservative with the on-switch, I never got more than 30 minutes out of it. It's also way heavier than you'd think so it's tiring to use. And since it's totally designed to be used right handed, it's difficult to switch hands back and forth to alleviate strain on your right arm (not to mention what it would be like to be actually be left handed working the thing).

Then to top it off, less than 8 weeks after purchasing (of course a few weeks past the Amazon return window), and after only using a handful of times, it just suddenly stopped working. I chatted with tech support to try and solve the problem, and very early on in the process they determined that it just didn't work at all anymore. They said they could send a replacement (still not sure if they meant part or the whole unit?), but that it was currently out of stock, so I'd have to sit tight until it came back in stock. This of course all happened the day before a massive two-day snow storm hits our area. So I said that a down-the-road replacement doesn't help me now and that I was already unsatisfied with the product and wanted a refund. They offered store credit, which of course I also pushed back on since I certainly didn't want another one of these and wasn't too confident in the quality of any of their other products after this experience. Surprisingly, they did immediately offer a total refund by check, but that I'd have to send the unit back before they process the order, although they said they'd send me a return label. And of course the unit is big and bulky and I just threw out the boxes it came in the other day, so now I need to find an appropriate size box somewhere to pack it up and send it back. We'll see if I actually ever get a refund, although the tech support person was very nice and helpful as best they could be given the situation, I guess.

Bottom line is that I thought this thing looked too good to be true, but the plethora of rave reviews caused me to overrule my instincts. I'll do my best to not let that happen again. I'd recommend paying a bit more and investing in a full-blown electric snow blower (that's what I'll be doing, anyway).

5.0 out of 5 stars Handles damp (snowball/snowman) snow much better than expected.

No data on longevity and bought an extra battery right away. Had in storage at 2 bars out of 3 charge.
Charged both to pretty full prior to use.

Using it now to clear extra drainage paths taking swipes through drifts starting at the top. Can't handle snowplowed snow at all. Not expecting it to handle 'old' snow. Nice design overall for clearing channels.

Tested initially on a driveway and sidewalk with 3-4 inches of packy (snowman) snow and had to push, pull back, push (easy to do and didn't have to lift snow at edges). Was able to clear driveway and sidewalk with a bit of snow left on both in about an hour. Threw about 10-14 feet (with the help of the wind). If you don't want to lift the snow at the edges, the tradeoff is patience with less width and limited capacity. (Standard shovel clears best to pavement - snowblower clears best for volume and better to pavement - was still snowing and blowing when finished a first pass.)

If you can use it working with the wind, the sidewalks are easy. Throws snow forward so helps if the wind picks it up and puts it in the snowbanks - otherwise you need to use it sort of sideways.

Two batteries did about one hours work and could have done just a bit more (thinking maybe 15-20 minutes more).

Read that batteries (after use) should be stored at 2 full bars out of 3 (if 3 is full) (versus topped off) and recharged about every 6 months if in storage to get the longest use out of them.

Don't expect it to work on slush. Don't expect it to work on any packed snow or ice chunks and avoid areas with sticks. It doesn't clear fully to pavement which isn't a big deal when clearing drainage channels in grassy areas where a person might finish clearing the area with a standard shovel anyway.

Biggest values so far ... moving some (fresh) snow weight to different quite distant areas so it didn't have to be lifted while limiting the development of extra snowbanks around the drainage channels. And, clearing/moving some snow in areas where a snowblower can't easily be used.
